"did you know that no matter how hard you tried, no one would hear you speak in space?"

"really? why?"

"because there's no air in space. there's nothing for the sound waves to travel through."

"that's really cool."

"yeah."

"are you okay, ash?"

"no. why can't i go to space?"

"well, you're not an astronaut."

"i don't mean it like that. in space no one could hear me, so it would be the same as down here, but this time there'd be an excuse i could give myself as to why what i say means nothing. to anyone."

"i listen to you. remember what you said, 'the world may be boring, but the universe isn't.'"

"you remember that? doesn't matter. what does that have to do with anything?"

"you think no one can hear you, but i can. i love listening to you."
