On the record, it was Tracy's worst day. Life was busy throwing her lemons. Perhaps the most sour lemons ever. What had she ever seen in this jackass? What could have possibly blinded her to that extent? She yanked the sun shade down while looking askance against the spring sun. At least the setting sun meant the dreadful day was almost over. Even if she still had no idea about what to do, but it was just perfect. She would figure it out somehow.
She wasn't sure of how the doctor would react to what her mind was telling her to do, but this was her only hope at this point. She had to give it a try though. It was worth the menace. She then trailed up to the wardrobe where she scrambled for the sexiest lingerie. But they all didn't make her feel sexy enough. The red one kind of did make her feel sexy though, but it wasn't sexy enough. But why stress? Suddenly a thought hit her and only a flippant woman would think twice about it.
That is when she automatically reached for her bag that she had carefully placed on the floor while grinning a little. Yes, her mobile phone had a GPS and at least that could inform her if she was still heading in the right direction.
But then, life has no sweetheart. The dashboard's orange low fuel light chose that moment to ding.
Oh well, she had forgotten to stop for gas on the way home and she certainly hadn't been thinking about it after storming out of the house. She was going to have to find a payphone. But it wasn't the nineties; she would certainly not find any nearby pay phone. Not where she was. Tracy groaned. Maybe she could borrow someone's phone, call any of her friends and beg for a ride. But she did not have anyone's number memorized.
She tried to look around but there was no glimpse of hope. Everything spoke of inhospitality. There was an ancient rustic-looking castle on her right but it was definitely deserted. And she could use a friend right now. But she had none. And not because she was unfriendly, but just this wasn't the time she could think of any friend that wouldn't question her. Them saying stuff like, what were you thinking or where were you heading to at that time? Tracy climbed out of her aging Volkswagen Beetle, and the hinges squealed as she shut the door.
She trekked for about ten minutes until she suddenly saw a petrol station. Oh thank God. Walking towards the place, she let her gaze wander, looking for a friendly stranger with a phone. How do I get myself into these states of affair? She sighed, tucking strands of blonde hair behind her ears and ensuring that all her shirt buttons were made. She had to look responsible or else no one would help her. She didn't want people to take her unserious. Or let alone not help her, this was the last thing she wanted to happen that very day.
***********
Upon scanning the area, she was quick to notice a well groomed kind looking man walking out the petrol station mini market with a phone in his right hand. Yes, she had to go and talk to him. But then suddenly, she had noise behind the big dirty Green lorry. This wasn't just noise, they were screams. However much she wanted to call her friends for help, she just couldn't leave before confirming exactly what was happening.
The rasping screams came from a petite girl.
"You, am talking to you. Leave her alone." Tracy bellowed.
The old man seemed to have not had her speak. Matter of fact, he didn't even turn back.
"I said let her be. What has she done to deserve all that beating?" Tracy shouted while tacking on the guy's hand.
He shrugged but she didn't take a hint. She kept pulling him away from the girl until she realized that it was all irrelevant. He was really strong.
"Just try to mind your business you bloody fool. I have warned you!" he screamed while wrinkling his forehead. He had the woman by the shoulders and was shaking her hard enough that her teeth rattled.
