Negan- pt 2

"You okay?" Rick asked from the front of the RV.
"Yeah I'm fine, just thinking." I replied.
He looked back at me in the rear vision mirror, his blue eyes holding so many memories and I could feel them trying to make their way to me. Glenn sat beside me, rubbing my leg in reassurance. I'm not gonna lie, I was scared. Terrified. But this was to protect my family, my friends, and my home. It's how we eat. It's how we survive. I remember my dad telling me not to turn down an opportunity to help your people, because it might turn around, and those people you helped, will no doubt help you.

So that's exactly what I'm doing, I'm helping to be helped.

Somewhere along the road, I had fallen asleep on Glenn's shoulder, dreamless. I knew this because as soon as I fell asleep, I was woken up by the kind man who's shoulder I had used as a pillow. "Are we here?" I asked groggily, I was really tired.

"Yeah." He said, letting me sit up.

I rubbed my eyes and stretched a bit, before slowly making my way out of the RV. The group was in a circle, discussing the plan and what not. I joined them, standing next to Sasha. She looked down at me and smiled lightly, I returned the favor. "Y/n," Rick spoke up, "You'll be on watch outside with Maggie, make sure anyone you don't know doesn't come in, there's only one entrance and one exit, got that?"

"Yeah." I nodded my head.

"We wait until nightfall, midnight to be exact, and then we head out. Kill them while their sleeping." Rick confirmed.

"Can I go back to the RV?" I asked Glenn.

"Yeah, I'll came get you when we're going." He told me.

I curled myself up on the couch and thought about everything. Carl is gonna be mad, I just left him when I promised him I would stay. Would I lose him? I shook the thought out of my head and drifted off into, yet another, dreamless slumber.

My shoulder was being gently nudged by someone, signalling that I have to get up. I groaned and slowly opened my eyes. "Come on, get up now, you'll be with me." Carol said.
"Okay." I sighed, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

Rick went through the plan once again, and I over heard him and Carol talking. "Why is she here?" Carol.

"She's here because she volunteered, we need people." Rick.

"But she's only a kid, if she died, that would be on you." Carol.

"It was her choice, not mine, she'll be on watch with you anyway, you can keep her safe." Rick.

Once they were done I sighed. I really shouldn't have come, even Carol wanted me to stay. "Head out!" Rick called.
I walked with Carol, on the way to our look out. "Carl didn't want me to come either." I spoke up.
"What do you mean?" She said, eyebrows furrowed.

"He didn't want me to come help with Negan, but I had to. This group and Alexandria have done so much for me, saved my life infact, so I need to give back." I said confidently.

"Yeah, but you're only a kid."

"I don't care." I told her.

"Why didn't Carl want you to go?" Carol asked.
I paused a few seconds. "He said that he loved me." I looked at the ground, confusion on my face.

"I always knew he did, I didn't think he would say anything though." She chuckled.

I stayed looking at the ground, the thought of him actually being in love with me wasn't getting through my head. Did I love him back? I'm not sure. What I said before was the heat of the moment, but really, I'm clueless.

The group had now headed indoors, and carol and I were keeping watch behind some bushes. Rick and Daryl had already killed two men, and the fact that you could kill someone so silently and so quickly, fascinated me. "Hey, Carol?" I called.
"Yes?"

"Do you think Carl meant what he said?" If anyone knew, it would be Carol.

"I honestly think he did, Rick isn't even as close to him as you are, you two are like twins, only, not twins, if you get what I'm saying." She shrugged.

I nodded.

Suddenly a man ran out of the brush behind us and tackled me, holding a knife to my throat. Carols instincts kicked in, and she shot him in the arm. This gave me a chance to push him off me and recover.

"Drop your weapons." I turned around to see a red haired woman with a gun pointed at carols head, she had about three others with her.
I stood in shock, not knowing what I should do. "I said drop your weapons!" She yelled.
We did as we were told.
"Come with me." She sneered.
