Maybe we weren't hitchhiking, but it sure did feel like that. I would say we had at least made it about fifteen or so miles and it was getting towards six o'clock. With all of this walking we hadn't seen any town. All of us had been passing the suitcase to each other. It's kinda like a chain rapped around your leg and there's a brick on the other end, except it's not as heavy. Just to my luck I was forced to drag it first since it was my lovely idea to have us walk. Ha, well you're welcome guys! At least we're getting somewhere and not nowhere! I finally got tired of it within twenty or so minuets, so I gave it to Mikey. Then to Frank, and then to Ray, and now Gerard, so I'm sure I'm back up for punishment next.

Shockingly it hadn't gotten dark. We were still on the move and none of us were talking. It wasn't too bad. Until your legs start to hurt, but you just ignore that the best you can. I think that I'm the one calling the shoots now, so we'll rest after this cornfield ends, if it ever does. Just a few more steps and I could see the end of the dreaded corn.

"Okay, at the end of the row," I started to say, but I was cut off when the guys started running to the end of the corn row. Gerard had dropped the suitcase down behind him. I picked it up and brought it to the end of the row with me. Seeing the guys layed out on the side of the road made me laugh.

"Laugh all you want. If you want go find "life" and then come back here and tell us," Gerard said bitterly.

I rolled my eyes at his sly remark and then sat down away from them all. So many things were crowding my head. is Gerard still mad at me? Are we anywhere near "life?" Did the non-existant person look for us at the van? Where are we going to sleep? I overthink so much! I layed back on the road and then layed on my side in a tight ball and began to cry. I tried my hardest no to make any noise, but it must have been imposible.

I felt a tap on my shoulder. I rolled over and it was Ray. I was probably hideous looking from crying because his face dropped when he saw me.

"Hey what's wrong," he asked me.

    "Everything," I mumbled.

"Penny for your thoughts," Ray's soft sweet voice asked me. I couldn't keep from smiling at this cute and funniness of his. It felt good to tell him all the things I had to know from the questions off my list.

"Ray," I said staring into his eyes.

"Yeah," he said. He was laying beside me with his hand on my shoulder.

"Is Gerard still mad at me," I asked him.

"No, of course not! I don't think he was. He's probably dieing over the van. It was like his baby." Both of us laughed at this. And we kept laughing. It seemed the laughing was contagious. The other question was still boiling in my head.

"I have another question. Where are we going to sleep? And are we going to keep walking for now?"

"Actually that was two questions and a statement," Ray teased. My eyes widened and I slapped him playfully.

"Honestly! What are we going to do?"

"I don't know. We should stay here tonight."

Before I could turn around I felt his hand on my face. Then he kissed me. On the lips.
