Chapter Twenty

"What was that sound?" Skye said, smiling at her babies as they laid on the picnic mat under one the big oak trees in the compound.

The suns ray drifted through the leaves of the tree, a soft breeze swaying the branches. The four of them were enjoying the weather. Birds were singing in the trees, fluttering around and the babied watched on curiously. Skye had been shocked by how different they were to human babies. But everybody reassured her they were normal for werewolves and they were progressing normally. No magick was in them. She guessed, senses were just quicker with their kind.

"Are there birdies flying around?" she tickled her sons on their tummy, which led to their big smiles and then Asta's followed when she did it to her.

Barely, a week old and they were already smiling. She shook her head. They also told her that they will grow normally like human children. Certain milestones are just going to come around quicker than normal.

This was the first time Skye has brought the babies outside. She was worried about her babies been affected by another spell but Tor confidently told her that he had put counteracting spells up. No spell would get pass any of the magick he has placed around them and also Beatrix had assured her.

Skye knew the trouble with Clarissa was far from being over, he bitch would be back but they would be ready for her. The only thing that really has been worrying her, was her brother. Hunter has told her that he would be arriving back on home soil soon. No one would tell her anymore and it was starting to scare her. She sighed.

"Hello munchkin," a very familiar deep voice, came from behind her.

She turned her head quickly to look over her shoulder and nearly gave herself whiplash. Tears came to her eyes, as she stood up on shaky legs. Her heart was racing.

"Jack."

She gasped when her brother picked her up and spun her around on the spot. She laughed with him. She could smell the wolf in him and knew he was pack. But her wolf also recognised brother wolf and was just as excited to see him. He placed her back on her feet and she looked up at him. Her brother was well over six foot tall. He got the height of their family and has always called her munchkin, ever since they were kids.

Being a werewolf definitely agreed with her brother. He always been built especially when joined the forces but now he seemed to be bigger than when she last saw him over video chat. Hunter had told her that changes do occur when humans are bitten and had warned her that her brother would most likely be a bit bigger.

"Are you okay? How are you coping with—everything?" she said.

He smiled and tucked one of her curls back. His own chocolate brown hair was cut military short, of course. She felt so at peace to have him home and safe.

"I'm fine and I'm happy for the gift that was given to me but also was given to you. I can't believe where werewolves but I'm also so happy that your here with me. That we will go through this together."

She smiled softly and nodded her head. Just then Toran made a grunting sound. A sound she knew all too well, he wanted attention. She saw Jack look over her shoulder and his eyes widen.

"They told me what happened but—I didn't believe it. How could it be possible?"

"A fine man told me not long ago. Our world doesn't play by the same rules," Skye said.

Jack looked at her and she smiled warmly at him. He nodded his head and still looked like he was in shock.

"Do you want to meet you nephews and niece?" she said, going back down to her knees in front of them.

Jack followed, as she picked Toran up.

"This little guy is my first born, Toran," she passed him to Jack.

Jack took him in his arms and held him against his chest. Skye saw how gentle he was being with Toran and she saw the instant love in his eyes. It made her heart want to explode with love.

"He is cute," he said, he looked to the other two, "their all beautiful Skye. Their beautiful like their mother."

She blushed softly and smiled at him.

"Stop. You're going to make me cry. This is a happy moment. Now here is Cain," she said, placing him in Jack right arm.

He held both boys in his arms as Skye held Asta, who was ever the patient child. Skye knew she would always be her patient baby and didn't mind be last.

"And this little sweetie is Asta."

"I don't have another arm," he laughed.

"That is fine. You hold the boys. Asta is very patient and won't mind waiting," Skye said.

"I can't believe where werewolves. How is it even possible?"

She shrugged, "I knew there was another world out there because of Beatrix being a witch but I never dreamed there was werewolves and vampires. Plus whatever else exists in this small world."

"Vampires?" he looked up from the boys.

"Vampires," Skye said as she nodded her head.

He looked shocked but then just shrugged. She guessed that once you find out about werewolves and also be made one, that the fact vampires exist wasn't such a shock. They just sat there as a family. He held Asta also and fell in love with all three of them. They talked and caught up. Then Hunter came to them. She was thankful that he had given them this private time to catch up. She kissed his cheek and thanked him.

"You're always welcome my mate," he whispered against the shell of her ear.

She looked to her brother, who was looking at them. She blushed and looked down at Cain in her arms. Hunter was holding Toran, while Asta was still in her uncle's arms.

"Sorry munchkin. I can see the bond between you two and I wonder if I will have that."

"You will Jack. The only way you could of been gifted a wolf is because you have a mate, who is a werewolf. Your mate is out there waiting for you. You will find them when you are ready and it will probably be in the least likely of places." Hunter said, at the end he looked to Skye and she returned his smile back to him.

"I hope so." Jack said, softly and wistfully.
