"There is still the issue of Layla," Ayden said, as they all were scattered throughout Hunter's small office.
Skye leaned on Hunter's chair where he sat while the gang all found spots throughout the room. The babies are asleep and Rosemary was watching over them. Rosemary and Skye have become fast friends and Skye has no issue with letting her children be around that beautiful soul.
"I know. She has been missing since Skye was kidnapped. She most definitely had something to do with it and I have a feeling she has betrayed the pack," Hunter said.
"The bond has been closed off, not shut off, she has closed it off from me. I can't sense or find her," Remy said.
"As I've told you, she did betray you to the witch. I don't know what deal she set up with her, all I know is that she gave information to Clarissa," Balthazar said, from where he leaned against the wall near the door.
"We need to find Clarissa, hunt her down before she comes knocking at our door," Ayden said.
Just then there was a loud knock on the door.
"Enter," Hunter called.
The door opened and one of the enforcers stepped into the room. She bowed to her alphas out of pure respect, Skye was still getting use to that.
"Alphas," she said, as she bowed, "We have Layla."
"What?" That one word was pretty much uttered by everybody in the room.
Hunter stood up, "Where is she?"
"She is in the holding cells. We found her sulking around the compound."
"Thank you Maryse," Hunter said, he grabbed Skye's hand and they headed out of the study with the others behind them.
They walked to the building containing the cells. Skye looked at Layla standing behind the bars. When she saw them her eyes looked excited especially when she looked at Hunter.
"Hunter..."
"Don't, do not say a word. You betrayed your own pack all because of you jealously." Hunter's voice was laced with so much anger, Skye had never heard that before in his tone.
"I didn't betray the pack, the witch had me under a spell."
Balthazar snorted from where he stood with his arms folded across his chest. Layla's eyes narrowed as she looked at him and she pointed her finger at him.
"He is the one that has betrayed you, not me. I would never."
A laugh echoed through the room, Skye looked over her shoulder as Tor came into the room. She saw Layla cower back against the wall. Tor reached the bars of the cell and looked at Layla as if she was nothing.
"I might have my issues with Balthazar, however, she wolf he has and never will betray this pack. You on the other hand reek of betrayal and it is all because you are a weak jealous creature. You know what I am?" Tor said.
She looked at him with fright in her eyes. Tor turned to Hunter and Skye.
"Let me get the truth for you, Remy or Ayden can stay if you wish. I can have it out of her in no time."
A smile curled Hunter's lips.
"Go right ahead Grandpa."
Skye gasped and she saw Tor get shocked also. Hunter just smiled and Tor returned his smile warmly.
"Ayden you can stay and help Tor in any way he needs," Hunter said.
"It will be my pleasure," Ayden said.
The others left the building. Skye stayed with Hunter while they waited to find out what Tor could learn from Layla. Ten minutes later Tor came to them as they sat in their lounge room.
"Good news and bad news," Tor said, as he sat down on one of the lounges.
"What?" Skye said.
"Layla wasn't under a spell, she knew what she was doing and of course she was trying to get rid of Skye because she was your mate. She wanted you Hunter for herself."
"Of course," Hunter said.
Skye squeezed his hand.
"Bad news, Clarissa has gone into hiding somewhere. All I could learn from Layla is that she has left the country."
"Fuck," Hunter growled.
"I'm going to be get my connections onto it but I don't know how long it will take. But I do know that witch will surface again especially since her sister is with us. From what I know her and Beatrix have some unfinished business," Tor said.
Hunter looked at Skye, she smiled at him softly, "We will handle her when the time comes, we have a family behind us and they are scarier than any army can be."
Tor nodded his head and so did Ayden.
"Thank you Tor," Skye said.
"What are we to do with Layla?" Ayden asked.
Hunter seemed to be thinking of what to do and then he must of thought of something because that Frost mischief smile appeared on his lips.
"Send her to Ivan."
Skye didn't even know who that was but by the looks on Ayden and Tor's face, this was not going to bode well for Layla.
"Do I even want to know?" Skye asked.
"Um, let's just say Ivan is like a prison warden for werewolves and is one dangerous Russian werewolf," Ayden said.
"Okay," said Skye as she nodded her head.
Tor leaves after seeing the babies and spending time with them. Later that night Skye was sitting up in their bed. The boys laid in front of her with bellies full of milk and sleepy eyes. Asta was feeding at her breast at the moment. She lowered her lips and brushed them across her daughters forehead and could smell that beautiful newborn smell.
Hunter walked out of the bathroom in his bed pants and sat beside her. He picked up his sons and held them in his arms. She smiled at him and laid her head on his shoulder.
"It has been one rollercoaster ride," she whispered.
"It has been but I wouldn't change anything, well maybe you being kidnapped."
She smiled to herself.
"I know there is danger still out there but whatever happens we will face it together."
"We will my mate and I will not let anything touch you or my children," Hunter said, he kissed the top of her head.
