After art, where I continued to play Hunter by flicking my hair, talking to the person next to him and such, I rushed to my locker to pack my bag with my homework.
Just as I finish packing and shut my locker, my phone pings.
Brenda: Jems, Hunter in dtntion w/Mr Warner. U want, I get Mr W out room so u can play H?
Julie: Thanx B. Good idea to help the game. <3
Brenda: Gve me 5 <3
Julie: K then.
My handbag in my grasp, and bag slung over my shoulder, I head down the hallway to Mr Warner's classroom, and stop around the corner.
"Mr Warner, I know you are doing detention right now, but I was wondering if you could look over my history assignment and tell me if I am on the right track? I looked for you earlier, but I didn't have history today, and I didn't see you for longer than a few seconds. I'm sorry if it's not a good time, but I'm really interested in this topic, and I really want to do well."
"Of course, Brenda. I wouldn't want you to worry about this assignment too much, though, you are one of my best students, so you are probably worried for no reason. Where is it?"
"Well, I may have already fully powered off my laptop, but we could go to the computer room?"
"Sure, just give me a moment." Heavy footsteps are heard. "Hunter, if you do one thing you're not supposed to, detention for the rest of the week, are we clear?"
"Yes, sir!" I can almost imagine the mock salute I believe Hunter would do.
"Hm. Good. Okay, Brenda, let's see this assignment."
"Let's go. I must say though, this topic is quite fascinating..." Their voices trail off down the hallway, and I sneak around the corner and slip into Mr Warner's classroom. I see Hunter sitting in the middle row on the left side of the classroom, and I waltz over to take a seat next to him.
"Hey, Bad Boy."
He glares at me. "What are you doing here?"
"Well, you see, my friend walked past this class and saw you in detention, so we were laughing about how you seem to be the only person who gets detention, like, every lesson, and I decided to come keep you company for a bit."
"Annoy me, rather. Don't you have, I don't know, a spa appointment to go to or something? Maybe have some shopping to do?"
"Ooh, that cut me deep. But, I can see where you get that idea from. I just look like a spa model. At least I'm not pissing off the teachers just so I look cool. Unlike you, I don't have to try." I flick my hair over my shoulder and grin.
Hunter scowls. "At least I'm not the sort of person who only runs when there's a two for one sale at Mimco."
I sniff. "Any two for one sale is a good sale. Especially at a place like Mimco. At least I'm not the sort of I'm-so-tough guy who knows about Mimco."
"It's not my fault. When you've had as many girls as me, you get to know these names."
"What, so you can buy their affection?"
"Oh, sugar, I don't need to buy anything."
I scrunch up my nose. "Ew."
"Nothing about is 'ew' about me."
