As we stepped in the Amethyst pack, there were some wolves that came and surrounded us. They were pack patrols I assumed. One of them shifted and I immediately recognized him.

"Alpha." He said respectfully as he bowed his head as a sign of submission.

"There's no need for that Beta Jason. I need to speak with Alpha Daniel. It's really urgent."

"Right this way then." The wolves around us dispersed and made way for us. We walked all the way to their pack house. Pack members bowed their heads as I passed respectfully. Everyone knew me and my pack so it wasn't much of a surprise how much respect they show.

"Alpha Evans, what brings you to my territory today?" Alpha Daniel said as we entered his office.

"My pack is missing."

"What do you mean missing?"

"We were attacked by rogues and now the whole place is empty."

"If you were attacked wouldn't they be dead not missing?"

"That's the thing. There were no bodies nor blood stains around. Just ashes of the burnt pack house and what's more strange is that the alphas house wasn't greatly damaged yet that's where my dad stayed."

"Well isn't that just strange. My deepest apologies to what happened to your pack. Anyways you are welcome to stay in our pack as long as you need. Beta Jason please lead them to the guest rooms." Alpha Daniel said dismissing us.

"Thank you Alpha, we just need a few days then we're good."

Beta Jason led us to the left wing of the pack house.

"Okay, so here's your room." He said pointing at a door in front of us. "Oh and don't worry the room has 2 separate beds." He added and I let out a breathe I didn't even know I was holding.

"Thank you." I said politely.

"And if you need anything my room is the last door over there. Dinner starts at 7."

"Noted."

Trent and I entered the room and settled ourselves.

"I'm going to take a shower." I told him. I entered the bathroom and quickly undressed and entered the shower. My mind was still focused on the note from earlier. I didn't even realize that I had been in the shower for so long until Trent knocked on the door.

"Uhm Astrid you okay?" He asked concerned.

"Yeah. I'll be out in a few." I got out of the shower and dressed myself. I let my hair down after I combed it for it to dry up. I got out of the bathroom and saw Trent laying down on the bed. He looked up when he heard the door closed.

"Took you some time." He said

"Showers relax me in a way." I told him nonchalantly. He gave me a look that says 'seriously' and I just shrugged it off.

"Anyways its my turn to shower now."

"Don't take too long though." I told him as I chuckled.

"Aww, is my dear princess going to miss me?"

"In your dreams."

"Oh you are in my dreams." My eyes widened and I felt my cheeks redden as he said this.

"W-what?" I stammered.

"Uh nothing." He said and rushed into the bathroom.

Did Trent like me in that way? I asked myself. No its impossible right?. I was shaken out of my thoughts when Trent snapped his fingers in front of my face.

"You okay princess?"

"Yeah just thinking."

"Well, that's new." He said then he chuckled.

"Oh shut up."

"Do you wanna go head down to dinner." I checked to see the time on my phone and saw that it was 7:30 already.

"Yeah. Let's go." We both headed to the dining area and saw that not much people were here probably because the dinner rush was over. A comfortable silence wrapped around the whole dining room as Trent and I sat down and ate our food. When we were done we both headed back to our room. Silence filled the room, both of us too deep in our thoughts.

"What do you think they wanted?" I asked breaking the silence between us.

"Probably power or something else." I decided to show him the note from my father's office.

"I found this earlier on my father's desk." He got the note and I watched his expression switch from curiosity to fear.

"They're coming for you. It all makes sense now."

"What does?"

"They captured the pack to lure you to them. This note says it all." I was speechless at what he said.

"We need to move fast and gather as much allies we can. We never know when they would attack." I nodded my head at what he said.

"We leave first thing tomorrow." We both agreed and decided to sleep and get enough rest.

The sound of footsteps and people running woke me up from my slumber. I got out of bed and went to sneak a peek through the window. There were some wolves fighting off wolves. I sniffed the air and caught the smell of rogues. I frantically went back and woke up Trent.

"Trent wake up!" I said while shaking him.

"What's wrong?" He asked whilst sitting up.

"The rogues are here." That's all I said and he jumped out of bed. We grabbed our bags and ran out of the room. We were stopped in our tracks by Alpha Daniel.

"You two need to get out of here. Go look for some more allies. We can hold up the fort here. They aren't that many anyways." He handed me a pair of keys. "Go use that. You would get there faster and safer."

"Thank you so much for everything."

"Anything for Alpha Evans. Now go."

We both ran towards the garage. All the times I came with my dad to pack meetings paid off since now I'm a bit familiar with the place. I clicked the keys to know which car we were taking. A black Mercedes-Benz lit up. Well this surely will get us to the next pack faster. I thought to myself. I tossed the keys to Trent and entered the shotgun seat and he got in and stared the car. We sped out of the underground garage into the deeper part of their territory. I entered our destination on the GPS and caught my breath. Both of us were still panting as we settled in the car.

We had one pack that would help us, we need more. And that's what we're going to do until I know what to do. Running and hiding, that's what we'll always do. Now we're off to the Grey Runners territory.
