I woke up and winced seeing the bright sunlight entering through the curtains. Trent and I stayed longer than expected at the bonfire just trying to know more about the oracle. All this information still hadn't sunk in my mind. Honestly, it was a little hard to believe, but eventually I should. I should accept this 'gift' , as they call it, and focus on training. Right now, these powers are my only chance at retrieving my pack. I still have to find what my other power is but that would be too early for now.
I jumped out of bed and headed to take a shower. I stayed in the shower for a bit longer, just feeling the warmth it brings. After that I changed into a pair of black skinny jeans, a tank top and finished it off with my black vans. I combed my hair and just let it dry naturally. I wasn't really fond of the thought of putting make up on your face so I just left the room. I mean why waste time on caking yourself in makeup when at the end of the day it just washes away?
I headed down the stairs and followed the mouthwatering scent of coffee. Coffee is just heaven! Anyways, the scent led me to a another set of stairs that led me to a very modern looking kitchen. The kitchen had white cabinets, a brick wall, a stainless stove and oven and a black granite island sits in the middle of the kitchen. Rose surely loved the color white. I thought to no one but myself. Trent and Rose were happily chatting when I entered the kitchen. Rose was still cooking while Trent was seated on one of the chairs in front of the counter.
"Morning, Princess!" Trent said acknowledging my presence as I descended down the stairs.
"Oh good morning dear." Rose said afterwards.
"Good morning." I muttered to both of them.
"Sleep well?" Trent asked as I sat beside him.
"Yeah I did." I replied with a smile.
"So, are you ready for practice today?" Rose asked as she set a plate of breakfast in front of me which I started eating right away.
"What do I have to practice today?"
"We'll try practicing the water element cause that's the easiest one to manipulate."
"Okay. What about Trent?"
"Oh he can train with the warriors."
"You have warriors?"
"Well of course. The coven is similar to a pack, you know. So basically what a pack has we have it too."
"Cool. So you up for training Trent?"
"No, I can't leave you out of my sight." He said stubbornly.
"We'll practice near you then. Is that okay?" Rose suggested.
"I guess so." He said dismissively.
We finished our breakfast a bit fast and before I knew it, it was time to practice. I switched to some training clothes that Rose lent me. It consisted of a sports bra and cycling shorts. We headed out to the middle of the whole village. There were quite a number of teens training and some talking.
"Hey Adrian." Rose called out to one of the teens. Then a dark haired boy with brown eyes came running towards us.
"Hey Rose what's up?" He said.
"So as you know already, Alpha Evans would be staying for a while to train her powers and while we're practicing I was wondering if Trent here could join you guys train."
"He could also teach you some techniques, right Trent?" I added.
"Yeah."
"So can he join?" Rose asked.
"Of course he can. Why wouldn't he? We need some help on strategies too."
"Great. So it's settled. See you in a while Trent." I told him but before I could even step away, Trent hugged me which caught me by surprise but I quickly hugged him back once I had recovered.
"Good luck, Princess." We broke the hug after a few moments then we both smiled at each other. Adrian led Trent a few meters away from us to a group of teens that were training.
"Okay, so what do I have to do?" I asked Rose.
"Well, most of your powers would rely on your emotions and mind. You gotta have a clear mind. Okay let's try this." She then started to face herself near the fountain that was a few steps away from us then slowly lifted her hands and made some circular motions. The water that was flowing from the fountain slowly followed with the movement of her hands. After playing with the water a little longer she set it back in the fountain.
"Woah!" Was all that I could say at that time.
"Now let's try that slowly." Then she started teaching me different hand movements on how to it. A couple minutes has passed and I still couldn't get a big amount of water to fully go up. I almost had it once but then lost it. I was getting frustrated by the minute. A groaned loudly as I failed to do it again.
"Why can't I do it right??!!" I complained.
"You're not focusing."
"I am focusing!" I snapped back annoyed.
"Well, you're only focusing on the water. If you want to manipulate the water you have to feel like the water. Just do it again but this time listen to what I'm saying."
"Okay."
"Now close your eyes." And I did as I was told.
"Breathe in, then out. Clear your mind from all that stress. Your mind needs to focus on the flow of the water." I focused on what Rose was saying and followed everything she said. I slowly lifted my hands and tried to control the water. When I opened my eyes, I was shocked to see that I finally did it. The water from the fountain was following my hands. I placed them back in the fountain after a few moments.
"I did it!!!" I said. I looked over at Trent and he was already staring at me with a smile on his face and he was giving me a thumbs up. I blushed lighting lightly and looked away from him.
"See. It wasn't that hard right? You just had to use your powers from within." Rose said and I just smiled at her and decided to try it again. So for the following hour and half I was mastering my power.
"Princess, I think that's enough for today." Trent said. I looked up and saw that it was getting dark.
"Okay. Ready to go back?"
"Yeah let's go." He held my hand and we both headed back to Rose's house.
