Stepping off the stage, a smile comes to my face. All throughout the performance, I was absolutely honored to see fans holding up signs that said things along the lines of "Welcome Back, Jimin," and "We Missed You." It was a beautiful type of overwhelming that made it a bit difficult to focus on my lines, but it was okay. It makes me really happy to finally be back onstage with the rest of Bangtan with our new comeback, Run.
I come off the stage and smile, tears starting to form in my eyes. This has been my first performance since I came back, and it actually surprised me to hear only positive things from my fans, as opposed to negative things about me and Cora dating. The fans have been so gracious and so kind to me since I returned, and that's something I'm incredibly thankful for.
Coming out of my daze, Namjoon takes me by the shoulder and shakes me a bit. "Good job out there, Jimin-ah," he says. "You did really well."
"Thanks," I reply, carefully pulling off the leather jacket I wore for the performance. "It feels good to be back."
"It's great to have you back, Jimin," Taehyung interjects. "It wasn't the same without you."
"Can we not talk about this?" I ask. "I'm getting emotional."
"Aw, Jiminnie," Jin says, putting an arm around me. Then, jokingly, he says, "you can cry if you want."
"Shut up, Seokjin," I reply, but finally the first tears fall. Jin, who is the first to take notice, wraps me in a hug, and soon the others follow. In the comfort of my brothers' embraces, I finally let it sink in that everything is back to normal. I have my job back, my fans still support me, and I'm still doing what I love— making music. It's exactly as it was before Taehyung sent me to the store five months ago. Finally, after what was nearly half a year in the making, everything is back to the way it was.
The group hug disbands and Jungkook asks a question. "Jimin, did you see Cora out there?"
"I didn't, actually. I mean, I wasn't really looking. It would've made me nervous. Do you know if she made it?"
"Yeah, she sent me a text. She should be waiting for you somewhere around here."
"I'm going to go look for her, then. Wanna come?"
"Yeah, sure. Let's go!"
With that, Jungkook and I break off from our other bandmates and begin searching backstage for Cora. After awhile of wandering absentmindedly through hallways, we come to a door that leads out into the main lobby area.
"She's probably outside," Jungkook comments.
"Yeah, probably."
"Want me to distract the fans for you? After all, my good looks draw anyone away from you."
"Except Cora," I state matter-of-factly.
"Poor thing," Jungkook jokes. "Doesn't know beauty when it stares her in the face."
"You're an idiot, Jeon Jeongguk. Just help me find my girlfriend." I punch him in the arm playfully and we walk through the door into the lobby, which, as usual, is bustling with commotion. The lobby is roped off around the door, and there are security officers dotting the area making sure that everything goes smoothly. Fans start to call out for us when we arrive, but I'm used to it. I smile and greet them with a quick bow, but then focus on my primary task.
Immediately, I begin to scan the area for her, but it doesn't take long for my search to end. Cora is standing close to the door, having a rather tense discussion with one of the security officers. Jungkook and I head in her direction, and once we're in earshot I pick up the words "if he were here, he'd let me in." I chuckle, understanding the situation, and quickly interject.
