Chapter Thirty - Love Buzz

It's been nearly four months since I found out that I'm pregnant, and three months since I found Duff's stash. So far Duff's been okay, or so I've seen. 

Today Duff and I are going to find out the gender of our baby, and I couldn't be more excited. 

I jumped down the stairs and bounced into the kitchen with a grin on my face.

"Someone's excited." Slash smirked 

"Yeah! We're going to see if it's a boy or a girl!" I squeaked

"Ah righto! Well that's cool. Hey, if it's a boy name him Slash!" Slash grinned

"Righttt." I laughed

I sat down on top of the counter, swinging my legs back and forth. Duff joined us in the kitchen.

"There's the future daddy!" Slash laughed

Duff laughed and joined me next to the counter. 

"Yeah, look at the tiny baby bump." Duff giggled, putting his hand on the small baby bump on my stomach.

"We should get going now." Duff said, lifting me up from the counter

"Wait, but I'm hungry!" I whined

"Here!" Axl shouted, throwing a piece of bread at my face

"Wow thank you!" I said sarcastically

Axl winked and Duff carried me away to the car. He set me down in the passenger seat and buckled my seatbelt for me. He ran around the car and buckled his seatbelt, putting the keys in the ignition and driving away from the house.

"Are you excited?" Duff asked, putting his aviator glasses on

"Yeah...are you?" I asked, looking away from the open window

"Obviously. I was just wondering if you wanted to know the gender, or be surprised."

"Mmm, I'd rather know the gender." I looked out the window, the breeze brushing my hair around

"Woo me too!" Duff laughed

We arrived at the doctors office, Duff signed us in and we sat in the small waiting room chairs. Duff was too tall to be sitting in the chairs, he shuffled around uncomfortably before giving up. I laughed and pecked his nose.

"Ms Taylor McKagan?" A voice called out

"Uh, it's Taylor Stradlin or Isbell, call it what you want for now." I said sheepishly 

"Oh! My mistake, I thought you two-"

"We're not." I smiled at her

"Yet." Duff added with a grin

I smiled and rolled my eyes and followed the lady down the hall. She brought us into a small room with a bed and monitor. She ushered me to lay down, she lifted my shirt up and applied some very cold jelly stuff to my stomach. 

She moved a scanner wand thingy around on my stomach and it appeared on the monitor before us.

"So, before I actually start, do you two want to know?" The lady asked kindly

"Yeah, we'd like to know." Duff smiled at her and held my hand.

"Alrighty, let's get started! Oh, I'm sorry! I never told you my name, I am Dr Monroe."

I just smiled at her, as she moved the wand around my stomach for a few minutes. 

"Ah, hear that? That's the baby's heartbeat." Dr Monroe said happily
