Chapter Thirty-Eight: No Attention

"I don't want to go home now, Duff!" I cried

"Taylor! Come on, you really wanna raise a baby on the road?" Duff asked

"If it means being with you, then yes!" I reasoned

Duff sighed and ran a hand through his hair, "I guess we can try to...but if it gets to be too much we're going home." 

"Thank you!" I squealed and kissed Duff's cheek

Duff chuckled and nudged me away. 

"Besides, I don't think I could raise him on my own." I said quietly

"Well Eleanor is back home, she would help you, right?" Duff asked while wrapping a blanket around Theo.

"I guess, but it wouldn't be the same." I mumbled

"Well for now just be glad I'm lettin' ya stay." Duff smiled

I smiled and silently watched Duff from the mirror that I was tying my hair up in front of. Duff, ever so gently, kissed Theo's forehead and swayed lightly while holding him. Duff has always been good with children, whenever a child came around, he turned into a completely different person. His drunk, rock n' roll life vanished and he turned into a bumbling idiot while playing with kids. He's always been so gentle and patient, it makes me smile. 

Duff noticed me staring and smiled.

"What?" He whispered

"Just admiring you." 

Duff smiled and looked back down at Theo.

"Hey, remember when we first met?" Duff asked with a soft smile, keeping his eyes on Theo

"I was such a fuckin' nervous wreck around you. I dumped my drink all down the front of ya because I was so anxious." Duff smirked

I smiled and looked up at Duff with heart eyes.

"And, I thought you were the most beautiful girl in the entire world. I was so fascinated with you, I'd never met a girl like you, and not just because you're Izzy's twin." Duff laughed

"But- I was so madly involve with you, that I cheated on Mandy with you...best thing I ever did." Duff grinned and looked up to meet my eyes

"Because I wouldn't be here with you right now, with our son...We have a son!!" Duff exclaimed, "Mandy was a typical blonde loser, you...you're so intelligent it makes me feel so stupid sometimes, and you're so classy and different. I was such an idiot around you, I didn't think I would ever get my hands on you."

"Well, here we are." I said quietly

"Here we are." Duff smiled widely and put an arm around me, kissing my head

"I love ya, Duffy." 

"I love you too, Taylor." Duff sighed

A loud knock on the door spoiled the moment and made me jump.

Duff answered the hotel door and Axl barged in. "Axl, what the hell?" Duff asked

Theo started to cry and Duff groaned, I took him from Duff's arm and shushed Theo.

"I'm sorry, I just-" Axl faltered

"What's wrong?" I asked softly

"I'm just fuckin worried, this band is going to fall apart." Axl said

"What? How?" I asked, confused

"Well, you know Izzy better than anyone, I mean, you're his flesh and blood. He's miserable, or he at least acts like it. And Slash, he's fucked up man. So fucked, Sophia left because she was so pissed at him." Axl explained
