"Hurry up, sweetie, you are going to miss my favorite part!"

I grab the bowl of popcorn, and settle down on the middle of the old, flower print couch. I think back to the day we brought it home, and how she always said she would reupholster it then change her mind and say that it had more charm this way. I smirk, just the thought of this tacky thing being charming is one that only she would have.

I quickly come back to my senses when she jumps on me, face inches away from mine. Her crystal clear blue eyes are staring at me, as if she is trying to peer into my thoughts.

"Now, who is going to miss the show?" I say, my smirk turning into a full smile, as I reach out and pull her closer, into my chest.

"No fair!" She whines, trying to wiggle away.

"Who said life was fair?" I say, turning her so she can see the television, and hand her the remote. She presses play, and a animated owl flutters across the screen as the opening song starts.

It's only forever

Not long at all

Lost and lonely

"Hey" she says, poking me in my side to get my attention

I glance over at her.

"Wanna dance like we used to?" She says with a nostalgic grin on her face.

I grin back and start to get up, taking her hand in mine

Life can be easy

It's not always swell

I pull her to me, swaying to the music with her head in my chest.

Don't tell me truth hurts little girl

Cause it hurts like hell

But down in the underground,

You'll find someone true

"Hey,"I murmur into her hair.

She looks up at me, with those big eyes that I could get lost in. I pull away from her slowly, and pull out the small box from the pocket of my jacket. I bend down on one knee, shaking.

"Ava...Will you marry a fool like me?"

The look of shock on her face was the one I was expecting, yet it still took my breath away.

"Yes!" She proclaimed, wrapping me in a warm embrace.

It's only forever,

Not long at all

I leaned in, my hand reaching up to flick a wisp of auburn hair behind her ear right before our lips gently met.

In that moment, time stood still and I was the happiest person in the world.

The sounds of the airplanes overhead was just a mere noise in the background, one that I didn't pay attention to. The same with the sirens. And the movie covered up the sound of something falling down to earth.
