My eyes fly open, the blinding afternoon light burning in them.

It was just so real, she looked just like Penelope.

I quickly force my eyes shut, hoping to see her smiling face saw closer to mine, just one more time.

The only thing I could see was the sun taunting me, shining through my eyelids and turning my vision red.

Its hopeless, I breathe as my eyes slowly half open.

At least she's smiling back at me in the picture on the table, the one we took while on our honeymoon.

We were so happy, grins stretching from ear to ear, in each others embrace. We were the perfect ones, the couple everyone envied, and we lived in the spotlight.

Her eyes stare back at me, and its almost as if she was already mourning. As if she knew what was going to happen.

I feel the darkness slowly creep up on me again, coming up my spine, and close my eyes in submission.
