Dear Lara,

I remember it now. The army, I mean. I was a Sergeant.

Sergeant James B. Barnes of the 107th Infantry.

I remember Colonel Phillips yelling orders at me when I first started. All the hard work and dedication. I remember the letters Steve had sent to me. And coming home for his parents funeral.

I remember why he said that now.

"I'm with you 'til the end of the line."

I said it to him. He was like my family. My brother. And I tried to murder him.

Oh, God. What have I forgotten?

Your's Truly,

Bucky Barnes.
