"Syndey... Syd, wake up." I heard as I was being softly tapped on the arm. I groaned and pulled the covers over my face.

"Syd, wake up!" She said pulling the covers off me. "I've been tapping you and calling your name for 10 minutes now." She added.

"Okay, ma...." I said in a groggy tone.

I got up from my bed and made it up. Then I went to the bathroom to get ready.

After I got done with my daily hygiene routine, I straightened my my hair and looked through my closet for something to wear. When I got my outfit together, I put it on and got my bag, keys, and my phone. (Outfit in External Link) I closed my room door behind me and went downstairs. I wasn't too hungry so I was hoping my mom didn't cook a good looking breakfast this morning.. When I got downstairs I turned to the kitchen and saw my mom sitting at the table drinking coffee and reading a magazine. 'Okay, she didn't make breakfast... Thank goodness.' I thought to myself.

My mom looked over to me and took a sip of her coffee before speaking.

"Ready for school?" She asked. I nodded and leaned on the door frame of the kitchen. She took her last sips of her coffee before saving the page in her magazine and getting up. After she rinsed out her cup and set it in the sink, she grabbed her purse, phone and keys and we headed out the door. We walked towards her car.. As I opened the door of her car, a car honked which caused me to look over.

When I looked over I saw a car slowly drive by. I looked closely through the windows and saw a figure with a huge fro. Jacob. The window rolled down and I saw him smiling and giving me a nod as in a wassup nod. I just starred as the car drove off.

"Sydney!" My mom said getting my attention. I jumped a little.

"Huh?" I asked, turning my head to her.

"Get in the car ...." She said as she opened her car door and got in. I got in as well and shut my door, and put on my seatbelt.

Before she even started the car she had to bring up the subject.

"So who was that?" She asked looking at me and making a little grin on her face.

"Nobody." I said plainly.

"Ooohhh is that your new crush?" She smiled.

"No." I said plainly. I don't even know the kid, and after all I've already heard.... I don't think so.

Her smile faded.

"Oh." Was all she said before starting the engine of the car and pulling out of the drive way. "We got to make a quick stop by the post office real quick... Gotta drop of these payments and crap." She added in a bit of an irritated tone.

"Mom, I'm gonna be late in school!" I said. She looked at me as she started to turn the other way to drive.

"True... Don't want you to start off on a bad trail for school by being late..." She said as she kept her eyes on the road. My mom I tell ya' ...

About 15 minutes later we arrived in front of my school where I saw tons of students outside and inside of the school. And trust me, that's not even HALF of this high school. I unbuckled my seatbelt and looked over to my mom and smiled.

"Bye, mama." I said leaning over to her and leaving a peck onto her cheek. She smiled back.

"Bye sweetie. Have a good day in school.." She cheered. I smiled and got out of the car and closing the car door behind me. She honked the horn and waved goodbye and pulled off. I turned my attention back to the school and took a deep breath. Although it's my second day here... things can still get crazy. I walked in not knowing what was going on. Students were already crowded into groups. As they were all besties and stuff.
