"No way! You never traveled half way around the world!" I said to him, laughing. "I did, I swear! Paris and all. Great place. It's beautiful, and romantic" He swore, laughing. "Wow. Your life is so exciting, and I've never even been down the street and back on my block. My parents are scared or something, because I don't have one good memory except for this party. The more I got to know him, the more I liked him; I'd learned about his sad childhood about his dad in jail for robbery, his travels, his exotic eating. "Don't worry. I'm sure you'll make some memories. Do you want to make one right now?" He asked. "How?" I asked. "Do you... wanna make out?" He asked. I bit my lip.

About 10 minutes later, I was only in lingerie, he was only in pants, and we were in the storage closet. I had my first kiss. No, I had my first makeout. And it was great. He was a great kisser. I smiled at him, as we now sat in the closet, talking. Just then, the door swung open, and Hayley stood there. "Hayley! There you are!" She said, and grabbed my hand. "You have to get home; it's 3am, and almost everyone left 15 minutes ago" She told me. And then she gasped, happily. "You made out! Oh my god, I am so happy for you! How was it?" She asked. "Hayley, not now" I told her, slipping on my romper. Nathan put on his black t-shirt, and came into the kitchen with me. Hayley couldn't stop smiling. Stephen was throwing away cups and bottles. No one had thrown up. It was a shocker to me, considering half the people at the party were seniors and juniors. "Ambro, you have to get home. You're parents will kill me and you and Carly if you're not there NOW" Hayley told me, pushing me out the door. "I have to stay here and help Stephen clean up. Carly is waiting to take you home. Go" She told me. "Are you sure you don't want me help?" I asked. "We've got it. Thanks for asking and thanks for coming. It was great to see you" Stephen called. I waved back. "Will I see you again?" Nathan asked. "Definitely if I make it home without getting caught by my mom and dad. They'd make me transfer. I see you, okay? I promise" I told him. Nathan smiled. I was glad I went to the party.

In the car with Carly, I sat up in the front with her, and she ambushed me with questions. "So, I heard you made out with Nathan? What was it like, being your first kiss and all?" She asked me. I smiled. "I really like him, Carly. And I know we just met a couple hours ago, but he's so nice and exciting and understanding" I told her. "Do you love him?" She asked. "Well, we just met, but if I get to know him and spend some more time with him, I think I could learn to" I told her. "Love. Such a funny thing. It's weird how it works, huh? I mean, some people would know each other for ten minutes and decide to marry each other, or it might take ten years to" Carly told me. I laughed. "Ten minutes? Really?" I laughed. "You never know" She told me as she pulled up into my driveway. "See you on Monday. Tell Hayley I want both of you to come over on Friday, okay?" I asked. "Yeah. I have to pick her up after she's finished cleaning at Stephen's, anyway, so I'll tell her then" She told me. "Okay, thanks. See you later?" I asked. "You know it, chica" Carly told me. As soon as I quietly closed her car door to keep from awakening my parents, she left. As I was about to creep through the back door, I noticed the kitchen light was on. Had I turned it on and forgot about it? Or...... no. It couldn't be. Please don't tell me I was about to get caught. Sure enough, as I walked through the back door, my mother and father sat at the kitchen table, staring at me. I swallowed, and I think I might have swallowed pride, dignity, and honesty. "Mother. Father. What are you doing up so late at night?" I asked, scratching the back of my head. "The real question is, what are you doing up so late?" My mother asked me. My father said nothing, as he always did when he knew a conversation with my mother and I was about to get heated. "I went out with Hayley and Carly......to the store" I told her. A lie. And a bad one. "Ambrosia Natalina Stevens, where did you go? And I will not ask again" She told me. I looked down. "I went to a party, alright?" I told her. "The party I told you not to go to?" She asked me loudly. "Dad said I could go! I heard him!" I said. "Don't bring your father into this" Mother said. "Why? He's my parent, too!" I shouted. "I don't know who this person is, but it's not the daughter I raised!" My mother shouted. "You didn't raise me. You let me live a lifeless life. I haven't learned anything from you, and I don't know why you are this way to me!" I screamed. "You'll understand when you're older!" My mother told me. "Why can't I understand now, mother? Hmm? Why?" I asked her. "It's more.....complicated than that" she told me, suddenly hush hush. "There you go again. Another way to cover up that you just want me to be miserable. I'm growing up, mother. Accept that, please" I told her, and stormed up the stairs. I heard her start to sob, and I knew my father was just comforting her.
