Chapter 2: Stressful Bliss

                   Peridot was sitting at her desk think of ways to improve the security system. "Ah come on you prehistoric clod!" Exclaimed Peridot as she noticed that over night her system was hacked and is now in total ruins. "What am I gonna do?! Garnets is going to ask about this and it won't end good!" As she thought of ways of fixing it before Garnet finds out, Lapis knocked on the door to her room. " Hey Peri, how'd you sleep?" asked Lapis approaching the office chair that Peridot was now slouching in due to stress. "Good, I guess" replied Peridot in an exhausted tone. Lapis made her way over to the bed and sat down next to Peri, mesmerized by how fast she was typing what seemed like endless math formulas. "Slow down Peridot, you're going to make the computer catch fire." "I can't slow down, do you know what Garnet will do to me if she finds out that someone hacked the system?!" "Where is Garnet by the way?" asked Peridot. "They all went on a mission and told me to keep an eye on you" said Lapis now moving closer to Peri. Peridot being somewhat younger than Lapis and having a huge crush on her is now trying not to blush immensely. "It's hot in here and you look like you could use a break" said Lapis is a sly but caring tone. "Wha-aat? I don't, don't understand" said Peri nervously trying not to look directly at Lapis. By now Lapis has one hand on the office chair and the other on Peri's shoulder. "Why don't we go down by the water and cool off and maybe talk some more, you know like relieve some unwanted tension." "Yeah, okay" replied Peridot now beet red and still not looking at Lapis. "I'll meet you there Lapis." "Okay cool, don't take too long Peridork" said Lapis in her usual sly, joking way as she headed for the door.
