Tucker shoved me hard away from him and I fell in a heap against the wall.

"Tucker no!!!" I screamed as a crazed Max raced towards Tucker.

My eyes shut instinctively to not watch Tucker get slaughtered. But I immediately opened them when I heard Max yelp out and crash to the ground with the chainsaw.

Courtney had snuck behind Max and shoved him off balance causing him to crash into a garbage can!

I glimpsed quickly out front to see the police still not able to enter yet, however two of the officers had a door ram and was ramming at the entrance door.

When I looked back up towards Max, elapsed time only a second here folks, he and Tucker were at it again, rolling around on the floor, going punch for punch.

"You fucking dick!  Why'd you have to fuck Krista?!?!" Max huffed through exchanged punches with Tucker.

"That's -what-this-is about?!" Tucker panted while taking a punch to the ribs.  Max had both his hands around Tuckers neck.    I could see Tuckers eyes bulging and his face growing red as he tried to pry Max's whitened fingers off his neck.

I was finally able to get my senses about me and ran towards Max's waist to try to pull him backwards.

"Courtney! Help!"  I screamed.  She ran over to me and started pulling at Max from behind.  Mike even hobbled over on his one good leg and punched Max on the side of the head, right in the temple.  It shook Max enough to loosen his grip.  Tucker took advantage of his daze and threw his head up, head-butting Max in the skull.  Max fell backwards, on top of me.  Courtney assisted Mike back to the bench.  Before I knew what was happening Max had me in his grip again.  His right hand holding a firm grip on my stomach.  His left hand, gripping that god damn knife against my throat again.

"Anyone try anything and this bitch gets it!"  Max yelled, he was covered in sweat and hurting my stomach as he gripped it hard with his hand.

"Tucker..." I mouthed silently to Tucker, tears streaming in my eyes.  Suddenly Tucker ran across the lobby towards Jeff, Courtney and Mike.  Where was he going? Why was he leaving me?!

"BLAM!"  Max dropped to the floor in a pile at my feet.  I screamed and l grabbed my face.  I instantly grabbed my torso and checked to see if I had been shot.  Max had a bullet hole in the middle of his forehead and blood was oozing out.  I looked behind me and down the hall to see a police sniper creeping forwards with two other uniformed officers behind him.  I ran to Tucker and hugged him tightly.

"You scared me when you ran and left me!" I cried hysterically into his chest.

"I'm so sorry Dray." Tucker smoothed my hair, "I saw the officer wave me away and line up his shot in the hallway.  I didn't want to leave you there but Max had to be stopped."  Tucker whispered down to me.

Police were finally able to open the front doors and came rushing in to clear the area.  The rescue crews came in with stretchers and brightly colored bags to attend to my injured , new friends.   One of the EMT’s was putting oxygen on Jeff’s face and bandaging his stomach.  I grabbed his hand before they wheeled him out the door and gave him a warm smile.  He gave me a weak smile in return.  I prayed he’d be ok.

Another crew came in and packaged Mike up, I waved to him and called out to him-“We love you Mikey!”  He looked up and gave a cheerful wave.  One of the EMT’s was kind enough to give me a blanket to cover myself up.

It seemed like a swarm of local and state troopers had gathered in the lobby.  A supervisor was delegating his officers to check different areas of our school, their new crime scene.   One of the officers came up to us and started gathering our statements.

I couldn’t believe it was over.  I collapsed on the floor and started crying, it felt like I had been waiting a year to cry and my body started trembling.   One of the officers told me I’d probably have PTSD for a while, (Post traumatic stress disorder)  I hoped not.  I was just so exhausted and so relieved to have it be over.

When we were finally cleared to go home I asked if one of the officers could call my home, seeing as how my cell still had no bars.  Tucker interrupted and said – “If it’s ok Officer, I’d be more than happy to bring my girlfriend home.”   He smiled at me.

I smiled at him and wrapped my arm around his waist.

“I think I’ll skip tomorrow.  How about you?” I looked up at Tucker smiling as we walked out of the school .

“That sounds like a veeery good idea to me!”  He smiled, as we hurried to his car in the rain.
