Noctis X Reader - Chances

Chapter 2

You walked for about another hour or so until you finally reached the station. You pushed the car up to the garage and Cindy came walking over to you. Prompto was rather 'taken back' by the clothes she had on and all you could think of was typical boys as you scanned the others. Noctis was the only one who didn't look interested in the sight before him.

"Hey Cindy~ long time no see." You walked over to your friend and gave her a quick hug before introducing the guys. "This is Prompto, and Gladio, and Ignis and Prince Noctis." You said gesturing to each one of them and each of them greeting the mechanic in turn.

Afterwards, Ignis explained what had happened to the car and that you were wondering if she could repair it, "Of course! I'll get right to it! But, I am afraid I'm gonna have to charge ya." All of your hearts sank slightly when she mentioned about money, truth be told, you had none. Well not on that scale anyway.

"So uh how much is it going to cost? Exactly?" Prompto asked, his voice getting more high pitched as his sentence reached the end. Cindy pondered for a moment and after checking the car she came to a rather unpleasant conclusion. "Twenty five thousand Gil for this beauty."

You choked slightly on your breath, you saw Noctis' face drop a little, Prompto's mouth almost fell off, Gladio raised his eyebrows and just repeatedly nodded and Ignis just didn't move and simply responded with an "Oh."

After you'd all accepted the fact that you were going to have to do some 'fund raising' for yourselves so that you could actually pay for the repairs, you all set off into the wilderness of Duscae.

The sun had almost completely set so you couldn't really see where you were going or what you were treading on. You snickered to yourself when you thought about how funny it would be if one of you slipped over or walked into a tree branch. In doing so earned you a weird look from Noctis - well, weird from what you could just about see anyway.

Speaking of falling over... You screamed a little and toppled backwards when an extremely oversized snake like creature took your legs out from underneath you. It wrapped the end of its tail around your legs and proceeded to pick you up and throw you into your boyfriend.

You yelped and he grunted as you made contact with him and the hard floor. "Noct! Ahhh I'm sorry! Are you alright?" "Shit, I just landed on the prince! The prince!" You screamed at yourself in your head, mentally slapping yourself for being careless.

"I'm fine, don't worry. Are you alright?" You nodded as you were about to stand up but the monster was already above you. You summon your sword and hold it out as defensively as you can from the position that you're in. You were on top of Noctis so he couldn't exactly do anything.

BANG BANG BANG

The snake fell to the side from the repeated gun shots and the guys came running over. "We've got no choice but to run. It has the upper hand as we don't know the landscape well enough to fight in the dark. We're practically blind with our hands tied." Ignis said as he helped you up and then aided the ravenette in standing.

"It's getting back up!" Prompto yelled as he backed up getting closer to you. "Run!" You all followed Ignis' command and made a break for the edge of the tree line leaping over fallen branches and swirling around trees. The land started to get steeper and you knew this wasn't going to end well. You were all currently running at full pelt down the side of a slope until you noticed that there was a slight problem.

"CLIFF!" You yelled as you tried to plunge your heels into the ground to try and stop yourself from falling but, it was too little too late as you all went flying off of the edge of the cliff. You shut your eyes and you braced for the impact of the rocks below.

Your eyes fluttered open as pain rushed into your head when you tried to lift it up. "Agh." You latched hold of it and checked for blood and thankfully there was none. You looked around you trying to make your eyes focus and then looked up to the blackened out cliff top from where you fell. "Damn that was a long fall... Wait, Noct. Noctis?" You scanned the area in front of you but couldn't see him, you knelt up and looked behind you and saw his body not too far from where you were.

You stood up and stumbled over to him and rolled him over onto his back. You patted his cheek and called him and he stirred a little. "There we go.." you smiled as he opened his blue hues and looked up at you before pushing himself up to a sitting position. Noctis looked over to you and his eyebrows knitted together as he did so, "what is it?" You asked as he reached his gloved hand out towards you and pulled you into him. "Noct?" Your voice was muffled by his clothing but you decided to wrap your arms around his neck and just appreciate the fact that he hugged you by choice.

"I'm glad your not seriously hurt." He mumbled into your neck and it gave you goosebumps feeling his warm breath on your cold skin. You pulled away from the hug slightly and rested your forehead on his and stroked his cheeks. You both slowly leaned in towards one another and your lips almost touched when you heard-

"*cough* now really isn't the time to be doing that is it (y/n)? And you especially highness." You both quickly pulled away from each other and you looked over to see the others walking over to you. You scarcely heard a groan of disappointment from Noctis as he leant backwards. You would've giggled if you weren't so embarrassed.

As you stood up the dark haired man moved closer to you and placed his hand on the back of your head pulling you into a loving but rough and quick kiss. When he pulled away he ruffled your hair slightly and walked over to Ignis and Prompto who proceeded to elbow Noctis and mock the prince for his actions.

You just stood there blushing and staring at their backs as Gladio patted your back and shuffled you along.

"Stupid prince"
