Mia's mobile rang almost as soon as she entered her apartment, she knew in her gut it was Sander, she didn't know how she knew, but she did. She unloaded her handbag and the coat on to a chair in her living room and nervously picked up the call, she was confused though, why was she so nervous, probably, she thought, because she knew this guy was the only chance for her to get the love of her life.

"Hello," She answered in a meek voice, which caused a smooth laugh on the other end, a laugh that sent ripples of awareness through her body.

"Mia? It's Sander." He laughed.

"How did you know it was me, and I didn't just give you the wrong number." She said, with a smile, knowing full well he couldn't see her, but she couldn't keep the smile from her face, he might turn out to be as good of a friend to her as Patrick.

"Why would you? We made a bet. You want my help." He stated, laughing louder.

"Ahh, true." She said.

"So, when do you next have a day off of work?" He asked her.

"I actually have the day off tomorrow, given that it's a weekend." She replied, unable to keep the excitement from her voice.

"Okay, I forgot about the weekend, so if I meet you tomorrow at the Hutchington Shopping Centre, at 12, is that okay?" He asked, his voice sounding like a blend of caramel and cream.

"That's absolutely fine, south entrance or north?" She replied.

"North. Make sure you get some sleep tonight, you're in for a long day tomorrow." He said to her, laughing like rich honey dripping.

"Should I be worried?" She laughed, nervously.

"Nope, you just have to trust me." He replied.

"Okaaay," she started, slowly, "I'll take your word for it, see you tomorrow."

"Goodnight Mia." He replied, then she heard a beep on the other end and she knew he had hung up.

Mia woke up at 9 the next morning, she was excited, she couldn't wait for the day ahead, she couldn't wait to see what Sander had planned for her and most of all she couldn't wait for Monday to see if Chris would notice whatever Sander had in mind.

It was 11 by the time she'd had a shower, chosen what to wear and put her makeup on, all she had to do was get something to eat, she had forgotten about eating with all the excitement, she opted for a banana, she wasn't that hungry, she was too nervous to eat.

An hour later she stood outside the north entrance of the shopping centre. She saw his chest first, he was wearing a shirt, almost sculpted to his body, maybe when she was with Chris she could set Sander up with one of her girl friends, her friend Mandy would love Sander, she'd always had a thing for rugged Italian's with large muscles and tons of obvious ego. She looked up to his face, he was smiling.

"Hello, Mia, I thought you might not come." He said, laughing.

"Why wouldn't I?" She asked, lifting one of her brows with a smirk on her face.

"I don't know, you might have had last minute nerves and thought you wouldn't come." He laughed.

"Well, maybe I just wanted to spend time with you, Mr. Mystery." She replied, winking playfully.

"I heard girls like solving a good mystery." He said, winking back.

"Oh, we do," She nodded, and then added, "Anyway, what have got planned for me?" She asked.

"First of all; new clothes, some sexy outfits to make your love's eyes pop." He said, smiling.

"I have sexy clothes." She protested.

"I hardly call what you were wearing the other night sexy, it looked like you were doing your weekly food shop rather than at a club." He laughed, watching her eyes narrow.

"Fine, let's go." She said through gritted teeth.

Sander must have made her try on at least 100 outfits before they had finally finished and found some outfits he told her would blow Christopher's mind, he'd made her try on form fitting business suits, sheer shirts, trousers and nearly up to the butt skirts, by the time they had finished she'd only gotten about 10 outfits, all of which he had paid for, telling her that she could pay him back if Chris and she got together. She told him no at first but he made sure to pay for them while she was trying them on so she couldn't pay for them.

Sander told her the only thing they had left to do was to get her some lingerie, she had asked why and he told her that even though Chris couldn't see them, he would be wondering what was under her clothes, and that sexy lingerie would make her feel sexy, so she smiled and went along with it. They were now in the lingerie section and he was picking out a form fitting bra for her, telling her it would make her assets more in your face for Chris.

"I think this one." He said, holding a bright red bra up for her to see.

"Why that?" She asked, feeling herself blush at him holding up lingerie.

"Red is a sexy colour." He stated.

"It is a nice bra." She laughed, she actually liked the bra, it was something that she'd never have the courage to wear.

Finally they'd bought everything and even gotten her hair trimmed, and re-coloured, it was now a dark red, where-as naturally it was a dull brown. They entered her apartment at nearly 5pm, after nearly 5 hours shopping she was exhausted, although she feared that Sander had a little more planned for her before he went.

"Okay, so what are you planning on wearing on Monday?" He asked.

"i was thinking the third outfit, the black formfitting jacket and blue sheer shirt, with the skirt." She replied, looking over to the bags that held everything Sander had just bought.

"Very nice, my eyes nearly popped out when you came out of the dressing room in that one." He said, winking at her.

"Yeah, well, I just hope it has the same affect on Christopher." She said, smiling slightly, thinking of Chris's reaction.

"Hey, if he can't see your beauty, then he's obviously not worthy of you." He said, smiling back at her.

"You know, you're really nice, I hope you're still going to be my friend after I win the bet." She said, laughing.

"Of course, I like to think I'm your guardian angel now, and that you'll do the same for me when I find a girl that I want to be with." He smiled.

"You got it." She said seriously, putting a hand up like an oath.

Half an hour and a cup of coffee later Sander said his goodbyes and told her to phone him after work on Monday to tell him how it went, wishing her goodluck.

When Sander got into his apartment he sat down, only to a few minutes later hear his doorbell being rung, he reluctanly got up, today had tired him out, although he had really enjoyed it. He opened the door to see his friend and business rival.

"Hey dude, up for some beers?" Chris asked.

"Yeah, sure." Sander said, looking to Chris, feeling slightly guilty for not telling Mia he knew Chris the first time they had met.

"So how's your abstinence going?" Sander asked over a beer 20 minutes later.

"Oh, dude, did that have to be one of the rules, come on, couldn't it just be not falling in love." Chris replied, groaning.

"That would be too easy for a self confirmed bachelor like you." Sander laughed.

Back at Mia's house, she was sat in bed, nervous about what Monday would bring and also happy, she had really enjoyed her day with Sander, he was quickly becoming one of her best friends, along with Patrick and Chris's sister, that reminded her, she needed to phone Chris's sister, they needed a girly night.
