A night of nerves

Patrick and Mia walked into her apartment 20 minutes after Mia and Sander had finished talking, Patrick was slightly drunk and Mia was completely sober. She had started explaining to Patrick about what she and Sander had talked about, the smile on her face was on her face, she was excited to go into work in the morning, although she was also very nervous.

"Okay," Patrick started, "So he spilled his drink on you." He said.

"Yep and then he asked to buy me a drink as an apology." She laughed.

"He seems nice, you should have kiss him to thank him for the drink." Patrick said, laughing.

"No! Now let me get on with the story." She said.

"Okay, okay." He laughed, holding his hands up in a faux surrendering way.

"Right, so we were sitting down and he was being really charming, and next thing I knew I was spilling all about how I'm in love with Christopher, and so I'm sat there thinking, oh gosh, I've just told a total stranger about my love life, how much more pathetic can I get, and then he said he'd bet me that I couldn't get Christopher to fall in love with me." She told him, the words coming from her mouth at what seemed like 20 miles per hour to the slightly inhebriehared Patrick, who's face was showing how confused he was.

"So, you took the bet?" Patrick asked, laughing.

"At first I wasn't going to, I was going to tell him where to go, as any classy woman in position would do, and I said to him, how am even suppose to make him fall in love with me, he, himself even said to me that if he hadn't fallen in love with me now, it was likely that he was never going to, but when I said that he told me that I shouldn't think of it as a bet, and that he'd help me, he's going to phone me soon with when we can meet up so he can help me." She smiled, thinking about how weird it was to meet someone in a bar and for them to just offer to help you.

"Maybe he just wants to get into your pants, Mia moo, what if he isn't a good guy?" Patrick asked, it was a rare occasion for him to be worried about her, he knew she could look after herself, but he was worried about her now, he was worried that his best friend could get hurt by someone she'd met in a bar, because who knows the type of guy this Sander is, he could be a murderer for all Mia knew.

"I'm a good judge of character, remember, I didn't sense anything off about him, he seemed like an okay guy, and if, when I meet up with him I get any vibe that he might be a creep, or a murderer, or a rapist even, then I will back off, okay?"

"Yeah, I know you're a good judge of character, I'm just being protective." He smiled, Mia was truly like a sister to him.

Mia yawned, a tell tale sign that she was tired, it was past 11 after all. She got up and said goodnight to Patrick, she had to go to bed now or she wouldn't wake up for work in the morning, sh felt crazy agreeing to go out when she knew she had work in the morning but Patrick insisted, and she couldn't say no to him.

She got into bed and under her covers, the smooth feeling of the silk of her cover brushing against her chin as she tucked in underneath to get comfortable. Her mind wondered to Sander, she thought about who he was, he seemed like the mysterious type, but he had been really good tonight when he was listening to her still her feelings about her boss to him. He had nice eyes, she thought, before stopping and wondering where that had come from, she couldn't think about Sander, about his lovely eyes and is luscious creamy looking skin, she knew he was Italian she could tell by his skin tone and the way he was shaped, he looked Italian, and probably proud of it, she knew that Italians were very proud of their heritage. Mia wondered why she was thinking about Sander, yes, he was nice looking, but she loved Christopher.

She thought about what Christopher was doing now, probably that girl he was with earlier, she thought cynically. They'd had so many great moments in the time she'd worked under him, he was kind and sweet, he was everything that she ever wanted in a man, everything she wanted the man she married to be, he was perfect for her, he was smart, he could decode a message as easily as she brushed her hair, and he was funny, because every time she saw him at one of the company's parties he would be telling a joke, or laughing, his laugh was the best feature about him, he could light up the world with just one laugh.

Finally without much effort she fell asleep, into a dreamworld which at first was filled with thoughts on her and Christopher's future, she was walking down the isle to him, he was at the end, smiling at her and she walked towards him, his eyes bright and his white teeth brighter as they shined through his wide smile, and then she was walking in the park, pushing a pushchair that had a baby the spitting image of Christopher and her in it, she smiled down at the gorgeous bundle, knowing that this was perfect, but her next bit of the dream was more hot, she was half naked, about to be fully naked, she was walking toward a bed, laying on the bed was not the man she thought it would be, because on the bed was Sander, stoking his hard length for her as she climbed on top of him, just before he entered her, she awoke from her dream.

She glanced over at the clock, noticing it was only 20 minutes before she was set to wake up anyway, she might as well stay awake now. She got up, feeling very turned on, how could a man she had only met last night excite her that much, she didn't even know him. She didn't even want to think of what the dream meant, it would be better to just forget it.

She walked through to her front room, seeing Patrick asleep on the couch, he must of fell asleep as soon as she went to bed, she quickly went for a shower and then woke up Patrick, who was drooling all over the couch, she laughed to herself, she should have taken a picture.

He woke up with a grunt, and a curse word, she laughed, knowing he was feeling the effect of the alcohol he had consumed last night in the form of a headache, poor baby, she thought.

"Come on, Peebs, we have work soon." She said, laughing at him as he looked up at her, his hand shielding his eyes from the room light, which she had switched on after her shower.

"Are you standing half naked in front of me?" He groaned, although managing to laugh.

"Get up," She said, laughing as she walked into her bedroom to get ready for the day ahead.

30 minutes later Mia was ready, she walked into the room, where she found Patrick, to her surprise, was also ready, they were both ready to start their day, they walked down the her car, and got in, as she was driving it was quiet, Patrick was too hungover to talk and so she was left with her thoughts, she was very nervous about today, it was her first day of trying to convince Christopher to love her, and she wasn't even sure she was ready for it. Scratch that, she wasn't ready for it. She wished that she didn't have work today so then at least she could have gotten Sanders help before seeing him for the first time since the bet was made, but he promised to ring about it, and for some unknown reason, she trusted him.

She walked to her desk, her fingers shaking as she placed her bag beside it and went to ask Christopher if there was anything he needed, probably a coffee she thought, laughing with nerves. She lightly tapped on his door, the hairs on the back of her neck where standing up straight, as she heard him shout 'come in' as she entered, she could safely say that she felt so nervous, it felt like she was entering hell.
