I eye the wolf next to me, wearing a black jacket, and in white letters it states, 364-JAY.

I have a jacket, too. I just took a test, so I had to let out all my information, like my name, where I came from, my family. I really wanted to ask if my family was part of the game, but the researchers and doctors, and even the other Dauntless Dogs looked like they didn't have time for anything, so I thought I could ask later. But here I am now, stuck with that question in my head. I love my family very much. If this is a game, I'm going to beat it. Everyone here, people, Dauntless Dogs, and pretty much everyone but my friends are not very fond of me. I must act like I know what I'm doing.

Why don't they like me? Because I'm small and weak? If they did, wouldn't they be teasing me? So many questions are in my head, why does anybody here like me. Across the room, I hear a faint whine. Of course, Zena.

She winks at me, her wearing a black jacket stating 541-ZENA. I don't know why she is so happy right now. We are about to begin training for who knows what, and Zena is acting like she doesn't know anything.

"Hello, fellow Dauntless Dogs," a deep voice says. "You are now in D.D training."

I shoot a look at Zena, like she knows what is going on. I know she doesn't, though.

God. What is training going to be like? It was horrible before training, and now what?

A shadow appears out from the back of the room, if there is even a back. It's so dark.

I snort.

The shadow comes closer,
