I woke up at a sound of distress and blinked a few times in confusion. I'd been in such a deep sleep that I couldn't figure out where I even was for second.
I realised Bradley had made a noise of complaint and pulled back slightly so I could see his face. His eyes were scrunched up in pain and I couldn't help but smirk. He seemed to sense me watching him and let out a sigh before meeting my eyes.
'If you're suffering from a headache then it will teach you a lesson. You only have yourself to blame' I said, untangling my legs from his own so I could stretch.
'I've learnt the lesson, now - can it go already?' he groaned, closing his eyes again. I almost felt sorry for him. Almost. It was his own fault, afterall.
'That's not how it works, hon,' I told him, propping myself up onto my elbow and yawning. I glanced around my room and winced as I made the mistake of looking out the window. Too bright for my sleepy eyes. I forgot to shut the curtains last night. 'Why is it always your fault that I wake up?' I muttered.
'Fate,' he said sarcastically.
I smiled down at him in amusement. He had one of his hands covering his eyes and the other clenched tightly in the corner of the pillowcase. I couldn't help but tease him a little, even though I did pity him.
'I'd offer you some pills but I'm all out,' I said, trying not to laugh.
'Why do I get the impression that you're enjoying my suffering?' he asked.
'Probably because I am.'
'And why are you?' he asked wearily.
'It's nice being the one not having a headache for once,' I snorted.
'I guess that's a good thing then,' he replied in a more serious tone of voice. I turned away slightly and frowned. I wasn't trying to make him feel guilty.
'Is it one of those hangovers when you can't remember anything?' I asked, changing the subject away from my problems.
'Oh no, I rarely get those,' he smiled, dropping his hand away from his face and resting it on his stomach. 'I can usually remember everything. Only had a couple of times where I lost my memories.'
'Not sure what's better,' I mused. 'I wouldn't mind not remembering embarrassing things.'
'I remember Liam once tried to tell me that I-' he stopped. 'Well he tried to convince me that I did something but luckily I could remember the entire night so I knew he was lying.'
'He's such a douche,' I laughed.
'True, but it's just a front. He's surprisingly kind hearted,' Bradley said.
Bromances were, admittedly, pretty cute. But for me, it was just another thing I could annoy Bradley about.
'Hmm, does someone have a crush on their best friend?' I teased
'Yes,' he answered, eyeing me with a smirk.
I smiled at him in confusion. Guess that didn't work. I'd have to stick with annoying him with old people jokes.
'Your voice is making my headache worse,' he complained with a sigh.
I scowled and grabbed a bunch of his hair, tugging on it roughly. 'Hey!' he complained.
'Idiot,' I called him, relaxing my grip in his hair. 'You just need to distract yourself from it,' I added, looking down at him. I brushed some of his hair back from his forehead gently. 'It's like hiccups; if you don't think of them then they'll go away... well most of the time,' I added with a frown.
