-Antonio's POV-
"Any luck Antonio?"
"I wish I could tell you yes, but then I would be lying..."
"Antonio! How on earth can't you not find a job?"
"Hey, I tried! But it seems like no one is hiring!"
"Antonio, I already told you can come and live with us,"
"I wouldn't want to bother you, Emma. You already have your brothers with you. And I promised my father I would be living independently when I went to college and got my own apartment. I can't just ask much of you. And I already asked for money. I have to do on my own,"
"Well alright... Just be careful. I heard the area around your place had some ghoul activity in the past month..."
"I will be careful Emma. Don't worry,"
I finished the call and sighed. My cousin was always so caring of us. She kept trying to watch me and support me. I appreciate it but I always wanted to show that I can be independent and strong by myself.
I am a college student and living in an apartment. I had to ask Emma and Lars for help to pay my rent. I have been looking for jobs this whole weekend, but nothing came up.
Now the sun was going down and I have class tomorrow. I'll just try to look for jobs after school!
I started heading towards my apartment when a young lady approached me. She had a lot of grocery bags in her hands and almost fell over. I went over to her, "Hey, do you need any help?"
"Oh! Hello. Ah, yes it does seem I need help," The lady spoke in her thick accent. She had a long coat and a fluffy scarf around her neck.
"I'm willing to take some of the bags for you,"
"Oh no! That's too much to ask of you!"
"No, I insist!"
"Well, I guess. Thank you so much!"
"No problem. I'm Antonio,"
"Katyusha,"
I smiled and grabbed four out of the 6 bags she had.
"You're so kind, Antonio!"
"I've been told to always help others, no matter what,"
"You're such a good man,"
I couldn't help but smile at her. I always like helping people. I've been raised to be a good man and put others first. Just like Emma wants to help me.
We were quiet most of the way. But she would ask if I was alright carrying her bags at moments. I would tell her I was fine.
We were walking quite far. I couldn't imagine just letting her carrying everything on her own for this long. I was glad I came to help.
It was getting dark. I think it's about 7 pm and the stars are rising, "I'm so sorry for keeping you here. We're almost there,"
"It's alright. You don't need to apologize,"
"Oh, Antonio, There should be more kind guys like you in this world,"
We continue walking.
"By the way, why do you have so many bags?"
"Oh, I'm planning a dinner for my family,"
"Is it a large family?"
"Oh yes! I only have two siblings but we are going to have many guests"
