Chapter 6

Shattered

The group of mechs and femme returned to the Nemesis by Soundwave opening a bridge into the medical bay. The more injured of the group were tended to on the berths while Knockout and Breakdown moved to repair the damages. Optimus waited outside with Megatron next to him. Megatron clutched at the place the shot hit him to slow the flow of energon.
"Why aren't you going to get repair?" Optimus tried to break the silence.
"I need to make sure my team is safe and have no risk of offlining. They're more than just soldiers," Megatron looked through the opened door at them.
"They're family." Optimus smiled slightly.
Megatron looked at him with a smile of his own. "You're nothing like him."
"That's what everyone is saying, but I barely know my counterpart." Optimus tried hard not to let his smile widen.
"Don't fight your emotions, Optimus. They are the reason for our strength. That and you get really good seeing past the facade after a while." Megatron smirked. "But it is true. Optronix wouldn't have protected anyone, not his own men or bots he didn't know. You smiled when you said family meaning you see your own team that way."
"So regardless of the strict face, you can read me like a datapad." Optimus conclude.
"Down to the last glyph. Why did you give up your family to help us? Surely it would have been difficult to decide."
"It was actually simple. I can not condone the lost of life. My team knows it and that I'm willing to take any injury or punishment just so they don't die." Optimus stated with a lot of conviction.
"You'd much rather die than see an innocent life fade away. Considering the emotion you blocked when you said the last part, something happened that put them at risk. What happened?" Megatron asked.
Optimus casted him a glance and sighed. "Megatron, how much do you know about where Unicron is?"
Optimus took noticed of everyone pausing to stare and some of the primes having glares pointed at him. "Not a lot," Megatron started, "all anyone knows is that when he was defeated, Unicron was casted away from Cybertron. How is the chaos bringer connected to what happen?"
"In my home dimension, we were faced with Unicron's reawaken. It was discovered that Unicron wasn't just inhabiting a planet but was a planet, a planet that blossomed life from eons of chaos." Optimus began.
"Planet? Which planet?" Megatron questioned.
"Earth." Optimus affirmed while looking straight into Megatron's optics.
"Preposterous!" Alchemist cried. "Unicron is not earth."
Optimus looked over at him. "But it is. Found out the hard way. Dark energon erupted from a volcano, unexplainable weather, and just over an hour while I was checking on a lead about the possibility, Unicron appeared and tried to destroy me."
"So you fought and in the end? Unicron gone." Amalagamous cocked his head to the side.
"Not right away we didn't. I wanted him to see that people relied on him for life. Didn't exactly get a thank you but a shock of dark energon. After I stopped his duplicate more manifestations appeared. My team wanted to help me but I ordered them not to. They came anyway when Unicron almost destroyed me." Optimus paused. "Then Unicron had me trapped and them scattered across the plain. The Megatron in my dimension showed up and saved my life."
"I take it that my counterpart is like Optronix?" Megatron asked.
"No." Optimus said simply.
"So he's worst?" Airachnid stepped into the room.
"No. From what I can gather from my meeting of Optronix, he's insane. Nothing like my dimensions Megatron." Optimus shot down the idea.
"So he saved your life. What happened next?" All of them jumped at the new excited voice and turned to the entrance of the waiting area. Five humans stood there. One a middle age African American man. A nurse with her hair pulled back into a long ponytail. A boy with raven hair and storm grey shirt. Another boy whom was shorter than the others with spiky brown hair and red glasses. Finally the one who spoke, a young girl with Japanese descent, black hair with pink tips and a shirt with a robot on it.
"Miko!" The elder boy hissed.
"What?! I'm curious, that's all, Jack." Miko shot back.
Optimus smiled again seeing as they did act like their counterparts. "Miko, th-that's the leader of the Autobots." Rafael stuttered and hid behind them.
"It's okay, Raf," Soundwave knelt down beside the young human. "He's nothing like Optronix."
Raf nodded and came out a little more. "What do you mean not like him?!" Agent Fowler boomed. "They look nearly alike. How do all of you know he's not Optronix?"
"He saved our lives, Agent Fowler," Megatron stated.
Agent Fowler's eyes widen before looking at Optimus. "Pardon me. But I don't believe we got your name."
"Optimus Prime." Optimus nodded.
Fowler nodded slowly before introducing the other humans. Optimus nodded to each of them in kind.
"So are you going to continue?" Miko asked, dancing around in excitement.
Everyone chuckled at her enthusiasm and Optimus just grinned before nodding. "After he saved me, my dimensions Megatron offer a truce until Unicron was defeated. I returned to the base as we all decided and they didn't know what was planned to defeat Unicron. I gave the Key to Vector Sigma into the possession of someone who grew from nothing into a leader. Once we departed for Unicron's spark did everyone remaining at the base realize I wasn't coming back. My team and Megatron fought to Unicron's spark and we were seperated. Unicron tried to stop us but I release the power within the Matrix. After Unicron was defeated I was reverted back to my pre-prime state, Orion Pax."
The others nodded and some smiled. "That's it? Ahh," Miko whined.
Optimus tried to restrain a smile at Miko's reaction. Jack elbow her side. "Miko show some respect."
"I expected more," Miko rubbed the area.
"Jack, have you not met her?" Raf asked.
The kids started to argue and Fowler and June decided to end it. "It was nice to meet you, Optimus." June nodded. "Let's go home guys, it's nearing dinner time."
The kids nodded and Soundwave opened ground bridges to the specific homes. Once they were gone, Optimus turn to the others. "Do they not have guardians to watch over them?"
"They do." Megatron smiled. " Soundwave watches over Raf with his minicon Ravage. Breakdown keeps Miko safe. As for Jack, Airachnid is his guardian."
Optimus nodded. Maybe things weren't as different as his home besides the fact everything is reversed.
