" Danae...", I look at my seventh grade friend, or sevie, Barbara. We call her Barbie. The only reason why she is my sevie is because last year when i first moved here to Davis, I met her older sister Kimmy, and we're friends. So it works out. Any way i look at what she is trying to show me on her phone. On her phone, I see a dirty blonde boy with a hoodie on. And I have to admit, he's one fine thing. "That's the cousin I was telling you is moving in with us. He lives in Tracey?"She kind of half ask half tells me this,"Didn't you say he was homeless?" I say. "Yeah. That's why he is moving in with us. But only until his dad can move out of his mother's place." I look at the photo again. He has really cute eyes and acne on his cheeks and under his eyes. i try to see a resemblance between Barbie and her cousin, turns out his name is James. to because barbie has long black hair and dark brown eyes with tanned skin to top it off. He has eyes with a thick outer layer of blue and a thin inner layer of green. His skin is lighter than hers by a mile or so. I ask her when he is coming," He has already begun to move in. he will go to our school." Our school, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper Junior High School, is one of three of the junior high schools here in Davis, not counting DaVince High that is. DaVince High is a 7th to 12th grade school. Emerson, Holmes and our school are 7th to 9th. I am in 9th. Next school year, I have a choice of going to our only high school in town, Davis Senior High School, or DaVince. i take another glance at him before she changes the screen on her phone. He looks like he would hangout with the fuck boys at our school. People who don't know them but have seen them think that we call them that because they are athletic, but what we try to explain to them is that if that were true, then since i am athletic, I would be considered a fuck girl. That always shuts them up. I remember that we are on the bus and our stop is coming up, but, luckily, her brother Tony pulled the string after the last stop.

I say good bye to Barbie and Jennifer, who I call Dennis, and walk across the tot lot of our apartments to the orange glowing light of house 122's doorbell.
