Just as we walked out the door, something caught my eye. A gray beanie. I picked it up off the trunk near my foot. It looked just like the beanie on the guy that... "No," I said, shaking away the thought.
"Hey Lane, you coming?" Ally called.
"Yeah..." I said hesitantly. We walked down the hall.
"You really do look adorable, Lane!" Ally gushed. "I'm super jealous!"
Just as I was about to say something, we reached a door labeled 'Meet and Greet's the security guard saw our passes and nodded us through.
"Hey!" Harry said. "Good to see you again! Guys, this is Ally and..."
"Lane," I finished for him.
"What is SHE doing here..." Louis grumbled.
"Louis," scolded someone. I think it was Liam. "Hi, I'm Liam!" Yep. "If you'd like to give us your twitter users, we'll try and follow you back when we get a chance!"
"I'm @ally2193," said Ally.
"2193," interrupted Harry. "What's that?"
Ally blushed. "My birthday- February 1, 1993."
"Mine too," Harry said, barely audible.
"I'm @laneadkins17," I said, answering Liam. He smiled and pulled out his phone, probably searching us right now.
"So how would you guys like to pose?" asked a blonde boy. Niall I think? I stood on my tiptoes and whispered into Harry's ear. He grinned.
"Gladly." He got down on one knee in front of Ally. She put her hands over her mouth and the rest of us just did goofy poses. The photographer snapped the picture.
"Give me a few minutes and I can get this printed," grunted the camera man. Ally and the boys hit it off immediately and they began chatting away. I stood off to the side, trying to go unnoticed. Ally was talking to 1, 2, 3, 4 guys. 4? I thought there were 5?
"Why were you so rude to me earlier?"
I jumped, startled to see Louis Tomlinson.
I remembered the incident from earlier and tears began to well up in my eyes. "You ruined my favorite shirt," I stated blinking through the tears.
He scoffed. "So what, it's just a shirt."
I felt a few tears fall. 'No, I can't lose it in front of this... RUDE, self centered, ego maniac.'
"It was the last present my mom got me before she passed away."
His harsh expression softened for a moment, then hardened again.
"Well, life happens," he spat.
I was crying now. "What is your PROBLEM?!" I screamed. Louis made no eye contact.
"MY PROBLEM?!" He yelled back. "My problem is I caught the love of my life CHEATING on me!"
We were both crying. Louis sat down with his head in his hands. He finally looked up at me, his pretty blue eyes red from crying. His expression changed from sadness and hatred to concern and disbelief. He shot up out of his chair.
"Where were you last night?"
"WHAT?"
"Where were you!" he demanded.
"I was at a club with Ally! What the hell does that have to do with anything?!"
"Give me your hand," he demanded once again. "Left hand."
I held out my left hand and he examined the cross tattoo on the side of my thumb.
"Yep..." he mumbled.
"Louis," I said, "what's going on?"
"Follow me," he said, taking my hand. He led me out back into the hallway and into the room I had been in earlier. He stepped in, pulling me with him and shutting the door.
He sighed. "Look familiar?" he asked, pulling on a navy blue hoodie and a gray beanie.
"Y-you're the... The guy from the club?" I realized.
"Yeah..." he said, shuffling his feet.
"You... Saved me."
There was an awkward silence.
"Thank you I whispered.
"Don't mention it," he whispered back, his face turning pink.
I pulled his phone out of my pocket. "Here." His face brightened. "You forgot this when you ran into me."
"Oh. Sorry about that," he said sheepishly, scratching his head.
"It's fine."
Gingerly, he reached out and took it. There was another silence.
"May I see your phone?"
Puzzled, I handed him my phone. He opened it, quickly typed something and then handed it back to me.
"We'd better be getting back," he said, taking off the hoodie and beanie. He walked out, leaving the door open. Everything was just starting to register in my brain. Louis Tomlinson, the boy who hated me, saved me from being raped.
