Chapter 3: first missions

3rd person

The genin met up at the tree where they introduced themselves the day before. They headed to the hokages office. Tatsuya looked at the stairs in disdain.

"You guys go get the mission; I'll meet you at the bottom." Tatsuya said. Yuri pouted and furrowed her eyebrows.

"Come on!" Yuri encouraged as she grabbed both boys wrists. Yuri dragged the boys by their wrists with them trudging grumpily. They knocked on the door and waited.

"Come in." A gruff voice called. They walked in and bowed slightly.

"Lord hokage." They said sort of at the same time. Yuri said it then Tatsuya and Nagisa said it.

"Your first mission as genin is to help an old lady with her shopping. Yuri will be the team leader." The hokage said handing Yuri a scroll. The scroll told them the client and the job along with where it would take place. Nodding they left and walked to the shop where they would find the old lady.

"Excuse me, are you Mrs dakakaze?" Yuri asked smiling.

"Yes I am, I assume you are the ninja helping me with my groceries?" Mrs dakakaze said. The three nodded and began to pick up the bags. There were 6 bags so they were going to take two each.
"Oh no! Dear, you shouldn't be carrying those bags that's what men are for!" The lady said. So Tatsuya and Nagisa ended up carrying three bags each and Yuri talking to the old lady. The Giants were grumbling to themselves quietly.
"Oh that reminds me I need to go and pick up some flowers for Taichi!" Mrs dakakaze exclaimed.

"I could go get them for you." Yuri offered. The woman nodded and gave Yuri some money saying to get some lovely lillies. Yuri parted off from the group and entered the yamanaka flower shop. She bought the flowers and headed to where Mrs dakakaze's house was. When she walked in the boys were putting Mrs dakakaze's groceries away.

"Oh thank you, dear!" The older woman said thankfully. "Could you just put the rest of that away then you can go, I'm going out for about 10 minutes." She said. The boys continued putting the groceries away while Yuri made the old woman a cup of tea. They left a note for Mrs dakakaze.

Dear Mrs dakakaze,
Say hello to Mr dakakaze for us! Enjoy the tea!
From Tatsuya, Nagisa and Yuri

They left and headed back to the hokages office.

"Mission complete." Nagisa said enthusiastically.

"Alright your next mission is picking weeds out of an old mans garden." The hokage said. The three nodded and Yuri took the scroll. They were half done when Nagisa was about to pull out a normal flower. Yuri placed her hand in nagisa's.

"Not that one. That one." Yuri said as she guided nagisa's hand from a flower to a weed. Once they finished the old man gave them some lemonade. They made their way back to the hokages office once again and handed back the scroll.

"Alright your last mission today is to walk the dogs from the shelter." The hokage said.

"Lord hokage?" Tatsuya said. He sensed that the sarutobi was hiding something.

"The shelter don't pay for people to walk their dogs. We just give any money we can spare to ninjas that will do it." The hokage told the genin honestly.

"Well we'll walk those dogs for you Lord hokage!" Nagisa said. The three smiled at the old man.

"You don't have to pay us for it; we'd be happy to walk them for you!" Yuri said. So they set off to the local shelter and walked all of the dogs. The sun was setting and the three had just taken the dogs back to the shelter. They were talking about their favourite dogs.

"I love the alsation! His names Archie!" Yuri said enthusiastically. Nagisa nodded happily as Tatsuya smiled.

"I love the jack Russell. His names jack!" Nagisa said. The pair turned to Tatsuya.

"Who was your favourite tatsu?" Yuri asked. Tatsuya was suprised that Yuri had given him a nickname but didn't mind.

"My favourite was the springer spaniel. His name was Charlie." Tatsuya said, smiling softly. They walked up the stairs to the hokage tiredly.

"Mission accomplished Lord hokage!" Yuri said , mock saluting as she entered the office. The genin had walked in on a few of the jonin giving a mission report. The genin had walked in with dirty clothes smiling. The hokage chuckled at their state and decided to talk to the genin before the jonin.

"Well? How was it?" The hokage asked. The jonin stood confused at their conversation. They couldn't figure out what the genin had been doing to get in such a state.

"It was great! Jack loves playing fetch with me!" Nagisa said happily.

"Charlie loved swimming! He wasn't too keen on getting wet at first though." Tatsuya said. Yuri laughed at tatsuya.

"I remember when Archie knocked you into the lake and Charlie jumped in after you!" Yuri remembered."Oh lord hokage! Archie amazing! He's this huge Alsatian that loves the mud and playing fetch!" Yuri said happily. The hokage smiled happily.

"Are you sure you don't want anything?" The hokage asked. Without hesitation, all three of them shook their heads. The hokage waited for them to say what they wanted. They smiled at the old man.

"All we want is a chance to do it again!" Yuri giggled. The hokage chuckled at their request.

"I'll see what I can do. Now you three go home and rest. I'm sure you'll be happy to know your senseis' will be able to join you tomorrow." The sarutobi smiled. The genin parted ways and thought the same thing as they walked home.

Tomorrow's going to be great!
