The Prisoner of Azkaban ~Ila

Chapter 2

I was sitting on the stool being dressed and tended to by Libby, I was nervous and excited I couldn't sit still in my chair. It was the last day of August, which meant I was going to be on the train and on my way to HOGWARTS TOMORROW.
I whimpered slightly and twitched, wanting to jump and leap and roar my delight to the world.

"Mistress Ila, Libby is almost done, please sit still?" Libby squeaked.
I whimpered again, "sorry Libby, I'm just so excited I mean, I've waited for this my whole life and... And now it's happening."
I saw Libby smile warmly in the mirror, as she stroked my hair softly with her little hand. "All done mistress Ila."
I grinned and leapt up racing downstairs to where my mother waited patiently by the fireplace.
I gasped, "we're going by floo powder?"
Mum smiled, "yes but I think you're missing something."

I frowned confused, hair, dress, they were all fine. My eyes widened. "Ohhh the letter right"
I quickly grabbed it from its place on the wall, I'd placed it there after Dumbledore had given it to me. I hadn't opened it because I was afraid I'd lose it.
"Okay, all ready now?" I quivered slightly.
She looked at me sadly, "I'm sorry pet, almost. I didn't want to do this but you're too excited. You need your emerald cloak dear, the new one."
I bristled slightly at the word pet, it made me feel.. Animal. "Why do I need it?"
"Well, Ila dear, your eyes are .. Bright Green." She said slowly.
I lowered my head, stupid curse. "Libby, bring my emerald cloak please." I whispered sadly.

Libby was at my side in an instant, "here you are mistress." She squealed.
I shrugged it on, making sure it fell to hide my eyes. I glanced once at my mum then lowered my head again.
"Okay," she said briskly "you've seen me do this plenty of times, Libby, you are to accompany us. Take her with you I'm not sure floo powder is good for her right now."
My heart clenched in disappointment, but I grasped Libby's small hand as she sucked me into the tight void of apparition to Diagon Alley.
We appeared at the same time outside a store called Borgin & Berks, I pulled out the list to read and see what I needed.

UNIFORM:

First Year Students will require:

1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
4. One Winter cloak (black, silver fastening)
Please note that all pupils cloaks should carry name tags

Other Equipment:

1 wand

1 Cauldron (pewter, standard size two)

1 set glass or crystal phials

1 telescope

1 set of brass scales

Students may also bring an owl OR cat OR toad.
