"Well then, I just so happen to know you had an interest in this little trinket. And just as I predicted, here you are," said Gideon, pulling it on the chain as far as it would go to flaunt it. "Yeah? What's it to you? Just give it to me and we'll leave peacefully," Bill replied casually. The chubby teen giggled. "Is that supposed to be some kind of threat? What are you gonna do, huh? I've got this place guarded better than the White House. You won't make it ten feet out the door, and especially not with your little henchmen in tow!" he said, genuinely laughing. Bill smirked. "Well we sure as hell didn't just spend the past half hour roaming around before anyone noticed or anything," he replied sarcastically. Gideon's cheeks and ears turned red and his face twisted in anger. "I'll have you know it was tea time! Any other time any you would've been caught immediately!" he snapped, sounding very childish. Dipper glanced at Mabel. He couldn't figure out what to think of him or this situation in general, and he could tell she had no idea, either.
"So, can we go yet? Or do I have to force our way out?" Bill asked lazily. Gideon chuckled, which turned into full on laughter, this time actually sounding threatening. "Do you honestly think I'm going to let you leave here alive? I know who you are, and I know what you are. Just try gettin' out of those ropes, see what happens!" he challenged. Bill scoffed. "Yeah, ok Gideon. I can get out of these stupid human ropes whenever I..." Cipher's face suddenly darkened. He wriggled in place, face growing paler by the second. "What, what is this?! Why can't I change back to my original form?! What are these ropes made of?!" he exclaimed, practically jumping in an attempt to free his hands. Gideon cackled at the display. "I had a priest bless those ropes! You ain't goin' no where, demon! And neither are your little crew mates!" he said, then added, looking down at Mabel, "Although, we do have a pretty little thing in our midst, maybe I could free one of you..."
Dipper didn't like the look in this kid's eye. Mabel was equally disgusted, and he wanted to shout 'stay away from my sister, you damn pig!' but he held his tongue, for the time being at least. "If you free me, you free my brother, too!" she replied stubbornly. The teen sighed. "Sorry, darlin', I'm afraid I can't let this snake slither away from me, and his first mate is almost just as valuable," he replied. Wait, if Mabel could escape, I'm sure Bill and I can survive this somehow... I have to get her out of here, and this is my chance! "Wait, Mabel! You should just go! Please, save yourself! Bill and I can manage somehow!" he begged in a quiet whisper to her. Her face hardened. "I'm not leaving you here, Dipper. We escape together or not at all," she said firmly. He widened his eyes in shock at her uncharacteristic seriousness. He both loved and hated his sister at that moment.
Dipper desperately looked around the room for a way to esape. Each guard held a sword, so maybe he could steal one and attack Gideon... If only his damn hands weren't bound behind his back! Just then, a knife wizzed by the brunette's back, slicing the rope and only just barely grazing his skin. He jerked his head in the direction it came from to see Red and Soos out the window, the crazy awesome woman with throwing knives in her hands. Looks like they haven't been caught yet! He thought, hope welling up in his heart. She smiled upon making eye contact with him and threw another knife at the guard holding him. It dug into his shoulder and forced him to release Dipper. The brunette ripped the rope apart and grabbed the sword at the man's side. Keep in mind this all happened within about ten seconds!
Red immediately immobilized the guards holding Mabel and Bill, and Dipper was quick to free them of their ropes. Immediately after that was out of the way, he ran up to where Gideon stood, frozen in shock. However, his guards were quick to act and were on top of him in seconds. Dipper may have been a bit inexperienced with a sword, but he was smaller and light on his feet. He did get at least some experience fighting the ghosts, but a sword and a knife are on a whole different playing field. His weak little noodle arms were having trouble even holding the damn thing steady! However, he didn't let that stop him, even though it did slow him down a little.
Meanwhile, Red, Soos, and Mabel were fighting any of the guards that tried to escape and warn people of their presence. His twin was handling the stolen blade surprisingly well, but she was always the one that beat him in fist fights, and she was stronger than him. He couldn't completely suppress the envy he felt towards her.
A blade was swung directly at his head. He just barely had time to register that he needed to duck before it hit its mark. His heart skipped a beat as it trimmed the hair on his head that usually fell over his face and half-covered his eyes. Not knowing what else to do, he stumbled backward and fell on his back, the sharp corners of the stairs dug into him and beat on his head, but at least he was alive.
Just then, he heard the clank of metal against metal. He looked up to see Bill, sword locked with the man's that had just tried to decapitate him. "No one messes with my first mate!" he growled, skillfully knocking the blade out of his hands. There was a fire in Bill's eyes that Dipper had never seen, and for a moment he was terrified. It was a murderous look, a look that wanted death by his own hand, but there was something else behind it as well. He's protecting me? Even just the thought of it sent Dipper's heart aflutter. Just then, Bill dug his blade into the man's chest. Ok, that's a little... Intense, he had to admit to himself, but he was still flattered. The captain's blade found its way into the second man's side and he looked down at Dipper, smiling, blood splattered on his clothes. "Just doing my job as your man~" he said playfully, winking. How does he find the time to be flirtatious at a time like this?! At that moment, the horrible realization that they were in earshot of Gideon hit him. He looked up at the top of the stairs. The kid's countenance confirmed he really did, in fact, just hear Cipher say that and realized what was going on. Now they really are going to lunch me!
The fighting resumed. Both Dipper and Bill had dashed up to where Gideon stood, but more guards emerged from the halls and the bottom of the stairs. Bill took the ones coming at them from below with astonishing speed as Dipper dashed through the ones up top; he had the little brat pinned to the floor in a matter of seconds, the blade pointed at his throat. (If there was anything Dipper was good at, it was dodging).
The boy was only phased for a second, finding his fury almost as fast as he had been pinned to the ground. "ENOUGH!" he yelled, grasping the pendant in his hands. Dipper was about to pry it away from him when he realized he was being lifted in the air. He went into a state of panic, thrashing as much as he could, but whatever had a hold of him wouldn't allow much movement. However, no one, at less no person, was holding him; it was as if he was being lifted by his entire being rather than just his arms or something. He looked down at himself and realized he was coated in some kind of weird blueish-green energy. He looked over his shoulder to see Bill, Soos, Mabel, and Red in the same predicament. As quickly as the fight began, it ended. Looking back down at Gideon, he saw that the source of energy was the trinket around his neck, which was clasped tightly in his little stubby fingers. The realization that he was the cause of this hit Dipper like a punch to the gut. How were they supposed to beat him wen he had such a powerful weapon?
The teen turned his attention to the captain. "I have had it up to here with you and your stupid little crew, Cipher!" he spat, then turned his attention to Dipper and grinned evilly with a venous tone of voice to match, "You an your little boyfriend will be the first to die when I alert the navy tomorrow mornin', and they won't exactly give you a quick death. Ain't nothin' you can do now, boy." He didn't have time to worry about the entire room of people that now knew the secret of his and Bill's relationship. "Fight me for real, Gideon! I challenge you to a duel, one on one, no magic, just swords! If you're anything without that thing, prove it to me!" Mabel joined in, shouting, "Yeah, you buttface! If he wins you have to let us go!"
"Dipper will win in no time, flat. You're nothing without your precious pendant or your little body guards, Gideon," Bill taunted, but the boy just laughed. "That's like saying I'm nothing without power! You're being reduntant, Cipher, but you're already powerless. You're the one that's nothing here, demon!" he retaliated, then sighed. "If it will humor you, I'll grant this as your last request." Then, suddenly, Dipper found himself face-planted on the ground before he could even register what happened. "Take the rest of them to the dungeon," he ordered the remaining guards (wait a second, this mansion has a dungeon?! Dipper thought to himself), "I'm going to enjoy taking out my anger on something that will beg for mercy!"
