"Alright, first things first, we're going to be talking to my friends." I say, skipping backwards to look at Jack.

He was walking at a much slower pace than I was and I'm assuming it's because he's lazy and boring and no fun. Or he's just annoyed with me.

"Whatever you can do to find the low lives I'm looking for." Jack rolls his eyes and before he can get any closer to me I hold my hands against his chest.

"Why are you touching m-" I press a finger against his lips and look over to the half empty bar we were about to walk into.

A friend of mines regular hang.

"She does NOT like Hyperion. Not sure why but she'll probably shoot you on sight."

Jack raises a brow and I feel something cling onto my wrist.

"Agh!" I fall to knees and feel my entire body shoot with electricity.

After a couple minutes, my insides feeling like fire, the pain expires. Jack is pointing and laughing at me, a small remote in his other hand.

"You- you should've seen your face! You were all," he imitates a terrified look and I stand up, weak as hell before falling over again.

My legs felt like jello.

"So, don't think about double crossing or ditching me. That's all." He grins, dangling the remote in my face.

I grunt as he helps me up and I notice the small chip clinging into my skin. The area around it bleeding slightly.

"Didn't plan on it!" That was sort of a lie. I knew Ten would hide me and beat the shit out of this guy if I asked her to.

I dust myself off, flipping him the bird and continue on into the bar. It was almost closing time, last call.

"Shots on me." A familiar and unenthusiastic voice chirps.

The brawler crowd shouts loudly, picking up Ten in all of her glory to thank her.

Who's Ten? Only one of the most badass vault hunters on Pandora. That's fact, not opinion.

"What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?" I ask her before she even notices me, rubbing my hand on her tricep.

After swallowing her shot, she slams it down furiously and I watch her lips curl up in excitement. It had been a while.

"Ri... You know what I'm doing here." She winks, handing me one of her four other shots.

Needless to say, her tolerance was high and she probably failed a mission, finding solace in some booze.

"Question is, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be.. Um... Working?"

"Bar closed early tonight. Some psycho started shooting off a gun." I grin, taking the drink and downing it in the blink of an eye.

"Rough night for you too, then?" Ten raises a brow at me and I pop my lips.

"You don't even know the half of it." I sigh.

Calm and collected and very much unafraid of Jack, I was still some sort of a slave, and that was so unlike me. I'm independent as hell. I DONT NEED NO MAN.

"You're zoning out." Ten giggles, turning to the bartender.

"Another few drinks for me and my friend." She says politely and the bartender scowls at her.

"Last call is last call, Te-" he couldn't even get out her name before she pulled her pistol on him.

"No one tells me when it's last call on a bad day." She grins again and I watch as Parker pours her and I another drink, defeated.
