The Knife

I fumbled a tiny bit with my lock before actually shoving through the door. What could I say? I was super drunk.

"Welcome to my..." Hiccups, great, "humble abode."

Shit. SHIT!

Slapping my hands over my mouth, Jack grabs onto my shoulder and holds me in my place. His finger tips bruising my flesh. Fucking christ, this guy!

"You're telling me... That you brought me... To your HOUSE?! When all of your friends are looking for you?! You're gonna fix this." Jack walks me toward my couch and puts an echo communicator into my hand.

"You call whoever it is that's looking for you and tell them you're fine. Got it?"

"Won't they notice when I don't show up for work to-"

Jacks hands tug onto my knees and his face becomes only inches apart from mine.

"I asked you if you understood, cupcake."

I bite my lip and nod, entering in Fiona's number. One ring... Two ring...

"Hello? Who the hell is this?"

Do I just risk it all and tell her where I am? To come in here fully loaded? Or will Jack kill me at the slightest reveal? Probably the second one.

"Hellooooo?!"

"Fi? Hey, what's up?"

"You guys, it's Ry!" I hear her shout to a small group of cheering girls.

"Where are you?! Where'd that psychopath take you?!"

"It's.. Actually fine. I'm fine. He hasn't hurt me," I lie, looking down at the doohickey stuck to me, "turns out I know the sap. He was just looking for some people. I've helped him out and he's long gone. But uh.. After all the crazy business... Do you guys mind if Jade covers my shift tomorrow?"

"You're the boss." I can practically hear Fiona's smile.

"Cool. Just try and get ahold of her please."

I owed Jade a huge one...

Jack was sucking on his lip, still extremely close to me.

"Alright. I've gotta go."

"Okay? I'll hit up Jade. Are you sure you're alright?"

I glance up at this handsome fuck and take in a deep breath, lying through my teeth again,

"I'm fine, Fiona. I swear."

"Alright... I'll talk to you later then. Drinks on Saturday?"

"Sounds great."

If I was alive by then...

Hollow point with the gang:

"So... She's fine?" Sasha curls her lip at her sister.

"I guess so." Fiona mumbles while she dials into Jade.

"I swear, this chick takes forever to answer her phone." The brown haired girl hums.

"What? Hello?" Jade sounds as if she were just asleep. They woke her up, can you believe that?  It was only like... 4am.

"Heyyyy!" Fiona gives a chummy groan, as if to ease Jades over the echo glares.

If only you could shank through the other end of the receiver.

"Fiona? It's been like... Two months, how do you still have my nu-"

"Riley wants to know if you can take her shift tomorrow."

"Since when does Riley pass up a shift?" Jade gets out of her bed and paces as she listens to Fiona's long ass story with a total bullshit ending. Jade wasn't buying it.

"She's shown up to work, hung the fuck over, dancing on the catwalk before puking in some geezers lap! No WAY in hell would a tiny mishap like a gunman at the club stray her from work. Is there anyway to trace that call?"

Fiona sighs heavily.

"I could always ask Felix... But it might take a while."

"That's fine. I'll.. Cover. I guess. I have to go then. Noon is an early fucking shift."

Fiona and Jade turn off their echos while Heather and Sasha stared at the con artist impatiently.

"I don't think Ry is actually okay. Neither does Jade. Do you?" Fiona asked, still momentarily hopeful.

Heather and Sasha each hang their head low and mutter 'nope'.

"Alright then. So... Felix needs to trace Riley's call. Let's go to the safe house."

Riley's place:

Jack still had a handle on my thighs as he pat me on the head.

"Good job! You listened to me! Who wants a treat? Huh? Come on girl!"

I smack his hand away and feel my body jolt with electricity. Where was he even tucking that remote away? Up his ass?!

"What the fuck!" I cringe, falling fully onto the couch.

As Jack laughs hysterically, wiping a tear from his eye, he eventually simmers down and takes out a knife.

"Look at that blade..." He admires, shoving it into my face.

"Why do I get the feeling you use that more as a mirror than an actual weapon?"

Jack chuckles lowly and puts his knees at either of my side, climbing up onto the couch with me.

"Well, I'll say for sure that your reflection is much better than mine." Jack says smoothly, touching the blade to my lips.

The cool metal was somehow... A huge turn on. He was threatening me and toying with me at the same time and I couldn't explain that feeling. I loved the thought of him having control. That's enough drinks for a lifetime, Riley.

"I asked if you wanted a treat, Riley."

I was at a loss for words, my mind was drawing an absolute blank. My pulse felt like my insides were about to burst.

Looking me dead in the eyes, Jack leans down carefully against me, our chests warming as they touch.

"Riley?" He asks calmly and I shut my eyes, nodding.

He presses the knife to my lips even further and opens his mouth, licking across the blade.

"Tough luck, kiddo." He whispers softly, removing the metal from my mouth.

With his fist wrapped around the handle, he retracts the knife back before slamming it into the arm of my couch, directly next to my head.

I flinched slightly and bite my lip, trying to calm my nerves. This was the first time I felt.. Beneath someone. For some reason it was electrifying. I know, it sounds like I need some serious help. I need my friends. Pronto.

"You've been a very bad girl, kitten. No treat today." Jack mutters, his warmth leaving my skin.

I watch as he pulls the knife from the couch, flipping it coolly between his fingers. Walking away from me, I notice him heading toward my bedroom.

No treat for me today? Fine.

But I'll be making him beg for one tomorrow.
