The world is such an exciting place. After my surgery I've seen so many wonders. This world is so beautiful. It's getting easier with the help of my friend Gerard . I used to be blind, and I got an eye transplant. I have no clue who the donor was, but I'm grateful. It took a long time for me to adjust to my eyes. They watered a lot and I blinked way more then usual. Gerard told me I looked like an old woman listening to modern day music. I punched him in the arm. I lived alone in an apartment, but he's been here awhile if I needed anything. You wish you had a best friend like me huh!
I've never noticed how beautiful and breathtaking this place is. It's amazing how unique each individual thing is, and all the memories it holds. I sound like such a weirdo.  Whoops
-
I woke up in the morning to Gerard opening the blinds of my room and shouting,
"Good morning sleepy head! Time to get up!" He said happily.

I covered the pillow over my head and groaned.
"Let me sleep." I mumble.

"Cmon Frankie. You promised to come see some more things with me! Stop preaching about how beautiful life is if you're gonna stay in bed all day!" He pouted. I sit up.

"You're such a big baby Gerard." I mumble scratching my head.

He placed a hand on his chest, as if I offended his ancestors.
"Rude Frank. You hurt my feelings." He whispered.

"For Christ sakes, Gerard." I laugh. I stand up, I place a hand over my forehead to shield my sensitive eyes from the bright light.
I squinted. I felt something nip at my feet, I squealed and lost my balance. I fell on the bed. I stare horrified, oh. It was my cat. It meowed as

Gerard burst out into laughter.
"You squealed like a child Frank! How cute! Haha!" He gasped.
"I'm no where near cute buddy! I can beat anyones ass just you watch me." I hissed.

(You're probably wondering right now,
"How the hell did a blind person take care of a cat?"
Well, I've gotten used to my apartment and it was getting better, plus my friends help me. I have good friends. )

Gerard rubbed my head, making my brown hair all messy.
"Don't get defensive, I was joking."
I cross my arms.

"And you wonder why people think we're a gay couple. Stop rubbing my head." I pull away and smile.

"We're good friends, Frank." Gerard murmured. His face began to heat up. He scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"Calm down. Jeez." I laugh. I sigh and go into the bathroom, I take certain medications for my eyes so they don't reject me. Or ya know, get irritated and such. Finally, I can see what I wear. I pull on some jeans and a hoodie. I smile as it was comfy.  I come out of the bathroom and yawn scratching my head.
"Let's go do whatever you wanted to do." I roll my eyes and make a circling motion with my finger.

Gerard was kneeling down, petting the cat. It was purring.
He stood up.
"Aight, let's go." He said, smiling.

"Where are we going?" I asked, curiously. I cross my arms.
"Breakfast, on me."

"Sweet! Thanks dude." I say in delight. He walked towards the door and put his converse on, I did as well. I open the door and walk down the apartments hallway, and into the elevator with Gerard. I press the buttons to the lobby floor as the doors closed.
"Where we going to eat?" I ask. The door opened as we walked out.

He shoved his hands into his pockets,
"I dunno. How about the pancake house?" He smiled.

"I love pancakes." I say happily.
"Because you're a big child." Gerard said.
I smiled, I agreed with him. I look around the lobby, taking in my surroundings. I walk out the door and look directly into the sun. I have made a mistake. I quickly look down and rub my now watering eyes.

"You don't look directly into the sun you dork!" Gerard laughed.

"I'm sorry okay?! I've been blind for 15 years, give me a break." I mumble. I see the features of people's faces, taking each and everyone into detail. I smile. Gerard began to walk with me.
"Wanna walk, or do you want me to drive you, Frank?

"I want to walk. Take in my surroundings." I shrug. Gerard nodded. The sun made his black hair shine. I put my hands in my pockets and walk. I look at people closely, studying them, along with gardens, buildings, pets, and everything I could see. One person in peculiar caught my eye. He had a melancholy look on his face, his eyes where fully black and his face was puffy and red. It seemed like he's been crying and rubbing his eyes for hours. He had no pupils, no iris. Just, blackness. He seemed to have scars, cuts, and bruises all over his body. His clothes where covered in dirt and blood. I began to panic. I patted Gerard's arm quickly.
"D-do you see him? He's bloody! Call 911 or something Gerard!" I gasp.

Gerard blinked rapidly, like he couldn't see what I was seeing. Like I was crazy.
"What? Who?" He looked around. I franticly pointed at the man, his terrified screaming filled my ears. I covered them, flinching.
"Dude. You're freaking me out.." Gerard whispered. People looked at me, like I was crazy.
"Can't you hear him screaming?!" I panicked and began to cry.

"I don't know what to do! I can't help! I can't stop him." I whisper. I look at him and walk towards him. I grabbed his arm, but felt nothing. I tried grabbing once more, but his disappeared. My eyes widened. People stared at me, in shock, in fear. I looked around. I walked back to Gerard, crying.
"I want to go back home." My voice cracked.
Gerard grabbed my hand firmly.

"Why? What's happening?"

"You didn't see that! I'm not crazy! I saw him. He. He was screaming!" I said, panicking. He brought me into a hug.
"Dude it's fine. There's no one there.." He whispered. I sobbed.
"There was! I'm not crazy." I hissed.
People stared.

I backed away. My eyes wide, frantic.  I'm going back. What the hell happened? I made a fool out of myself. I'm going back to my room.
I thought to myself, trembling.
He pulled back.
"You're overreacting. You probably saw a hipster or something.." Gerard said, trying to lighten the mood.

"C-can we just go back?" I mumble. Gerard nodded. We walk back, I was trembling.
"Dude. What happened? Are you seeing things? You're probably just adjusting to your eyes. You should go to the doctors and get them checked, alright?" Gerard whispered. I nodded. This is unbelievable, 10 minutes out of the house and I'm already freaking out.
That was horrifying. It was probably just my imagination, just like Gerard said. .
