"Doctor! Hurry!" I leapt out of my car and sprinted through the doors, throwing my lab coat off as I charged towards the waiting room. I was greeted by a less than encouraging sight.
Shin was pinning the young man, I had come to know as Isamu, down to the floor. He had a blade in his hand and from the way he was holding it over Isamu's throat I could tell that if I didn't move now he would kill him.
I lunged forward and grasped the hand that held the blade, I pulled Shin away from Isamu and threw him into one of the sofas. He leapt to his feet and lunged for me, sweeping with the knife, I felt a white hot pain across my chest as I realised that he had slashed me. It wasn't deep but he had seen blood.
He went to attack again but I side stepped and grasped the back of his neck. I pinched his pressure points and watched as he fell limp to the floor.
Sylvis came running in and guided Isamu and the young woman, that had been hiding beneath a table, away to a safe room for long term stays at the clinic.
I looked down at the partially paralysed Shin, the nerve lock would only last an hour so I had to move fast!
I lifted him and carried him into a secure holding room before wrapping him in a straight jacket. I strapped him to the padded bed and slipped a blindfold and a set of headphones on him. I pushed a button and calming zen music began to play, I sat and watched him for a while until he slipped into a deep sleep.
I stood and exited the room, I noticed how bloody I was and the stinging from the wound was beginning to tire me out. I settled into my private chambers and treated my wound, sterilise + rinse and repeat. I bandaged it up tightly and lay down on my bed.
I closed my eyes and allowed myself to drift off, one thought echoing in my head...
I can help them all.
