Jessica's POV*

When we arrived at the Hogsmeade station, we all got off of the train. Hagrid directed us towards the boats since we're first years. I sat in a boat with Hermione, Harry, and Ron. Nothing really happened during the boat ride, but soon I could see Hogwarts and once again I was excited. Since Harry, Hermione, and Ron weren't paying attention to me, they didn't notice my hair turn violet. Which meant I had to for it to change back to my normal color.

We finally arrived at the entrance of Hogwarts and when we walked in mum was waiting for us. "I'll take it from here, Hagrid." mum told him.

"Okay." he replied before he walked away.

"Welcome to Hogwarts." she welcomed us. "Now in a few moments, you shall pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats you must be sorted into your houses. There's Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now, while you're here, your house will be life your family. Your triumphs will earn you points. Any rule breaking and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup-"

Her speech was interrupted by someone shouting. "TREVOR!" Neville ran forward and picked up his toad that he lost. Kids snickered before Neville realized what he had done. He looked up at my mum. "Sorry." he apologized with his head down before he moved back to where he was standing.

"The sorting ceremony will begin momentarily." she told us before she went into the Great Hall. Since mum left there was an awkward silence that filled the air. But it was short lived when a boy's voice filled the air.

"So it's true then." the boy said. I turned to see a boy with slicked back blonde hair with gray eyes. "What they're saying on the train. Harry and Jessica Potter have come to Hogwarts." Honestly, does it have to be that big of a deal? "This is Grabbe and Goyle." he said, pointing o the boys behind him and I tried not to laugh at their names. "And I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." Ron snickered, catching Draco's attention. "You think this is funny? No need to ask for your name. Let's see: red hair and hand me down robes. You must be a Weasley."

"And so what?" I asked, gaining Draco's attention. "What does his last name and who his family is, have to matter?"

Draco didn't answer my question instead, he turned towards my brother. "You'll soon find out that some wizarding families are better than others, Potter. You don't want to be making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." he told my brother while holding out his hand with a fake smile on his face. Harry, I swear to Merlin that if you shake his hand I will hex you into oblivion once I'm able to do so.

Harry looked at Draco's hand and then held eye contact with him before he replied, "I think I can tell the wrong sort myself, thanks."

Draco turned to look at me. "What about you, other Potter? Your mum was one of the smartest witches alive. I'm pretty sure you know I'm right." he told me.

"You're right, my mum was pretty smart. But that doesn't mean I'm going to be friends with you. Why would I  be friends with a bully?" I asked him. He didn't get the chance to reply because mum tapped him on the shoulder.

"We're ready for you now. Follow me." she told us. We followed after her into the Great Hall, which lived up to its name because it was amazing. Mum walked on to the platform with a large scroll in her hand. "When I call your name, you will come forth. I shall place the Sorting Hat on your head and you will be sorted into your house." mum unraveled the scroll calling out the first name. "Hermione Granger." Hermione's eyes went wide before she closed them. As she was making her way up to the platform, she was muttering something I couldn't quite understand before she slowly sat on the stool.

"Mental, that one. I'm telling you." Ron whispered to Harry but I heard him.

I elbowed him before hissing, "Be quiet." I turned back to look at Hermione.

"Right, then. Right. Okay... GRYFFINDOR!" the hat declared. The hall errupted in cheers as Hermione grinned, jumping off of the stool to take a seat at the Gryffindor table.

"Draco Malfoy." mum read off of the scroll. Draco went up and sat on the stool, but before the hat barely touched his head it shouted, "SLYTHERIN!" No surprise there. He smirked before making his way to his table.

Everyone including Harry and Ron got called. They both go into Gryffindor and I hoped that I would be joining them. "Jessica Potter." mum read from the scroll. I heard gasps and whispers coming from the hall. I took a deep breath before I walked up and sat on the stool. Mum put the hat on my head and I waited.

"Ah, another Potter." the hat said. "Hmm, well you do have your mother's brain for sure... Ravenclaw?" The Ravenclaw table looked hopeful. "Ah, but you also have a great sense of loyalty and you are generous and kind to others... Hufflepuff?" the hat continued. The Hufflepuff table looked excited at the possibility of getting me. "But you are pretty sly and I see you have your father's streak for causing trouble perhaps... Slytherin?" The Slytherin table wore smirks because they were so confident  that they were going to get me. "Though your bravery and courage really stand out. So... GRYFFINDOR!" The hall errupted in cheers, but the loudest was the Gryffindor table, to be more specific two red head twins. "WE GOT THE POTTER TWINS!" the cheered.

Harry's POV*

During Jessica's sorting, I was worried that she might end up in a different house than me, but I was mostly worried about the fact that she could have ended up in Slytherin. When the Sorting Hat called out Gryffindor, I was estatic because my sister was in the same house with me. "We're so lucky to have the Potter twins." Geroge commented.

"Yeah, we hit the jackpot and it helps that Jessica is pretty." Fred said.

"Watch it, that's my sister." I told him.

"Sorry." He apologized.

"Harry, I don't think you should be worrying about Fred." Ron told me.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because Malfoy has been looking at her for a while." he told me. I turned towards the the Slytherin table to look at Draco and he was looking at something. I followed his stare and saw that it in fact did land on my sister. Oh this is just great.

Jessica's POV*

After I was sorted into Gryffindor, I sat down between Hermione and a redhead who was sitting across from my brother. Harry and Ron both congratulated me. I was happy that I got put in Gryffindor because both my parents were in Gryffindor. "Hi." someone said. I turned to my right and saw a red head. "I'm Fred."

"Hi, Fred. I'm Jessica." I replied.

"I know who you are." he told me.

"Oh yeah, who doesn't know who I am?" I asked.

"Someone who lives under a rock." he joked.

"Obviously." I replied. I turned towards Hermione and we started talking about classes which we were both excited about.

"Now before we begin, Professor Dumbledor would like to say a few words." I stopped talking to Hermione and looked towards Professor Dumbledore.

"I have a few start-of-year terms I wish to announce. To the first years, please note that the Dark Forst is strictly forbidden to all students. Also, our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you that the third-floor corridor is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a most painful death. Thank you."M That was some announcement. I wonder what they're hiding on the third floor.

Once the feast was over, our house prefect, Percy, led us to the common room. When we got there, he said the password to the Fat Lady and she let us in. Percy told us the ruled before we were allowed to go to our dorms. I walked up the girls' stairs to my room that I was sharing with only Hermione for some reason, but there were two other beds. Besides that I got ready for bed, said goodnight to Hermione, and got into my bed. I couldn't wait for tomorrow.
