Chapter 13 ~ Auditions

Will gave Ryley the sheet to put on the notice board for the Glee Club auditions. She walked to the notice board and pinned it up on the board. Slowly, a few people go up to sign the paper as Ryley backs away to the other side of the hallway where Ryder waits for her.
Their fingers intertwine and Ryley leans into Ryder as they watch people sign their names up on the sheet.
A guy who looks to be a Junior walks up to the board. He has dirty blonde hair and sort dark blue eyes. He signs his name up on the board. He sees Ryley and Ryder watching him. He walks up to them.
"Hi. My name's Blake Goodman. I'm new at McKinley. I moved here with my sister from New York. You guys are in the Glee club right?" The boy asks.
"Yeah. I'm Ryder Lynn and this is my girlfriend, Ryley Berry. I'm a Junior and she's a sophomore." Ryder says, putting his hand out, gesturing he wants to shake Blake's hand.
"Nice to meet both of you." Blake says with a smile.
"We'll see you at the Glee Club auditions, Blake." Ryley says.
"Bye." Blake says then walks off down the hallway.
"He seems nice." Ryley says to Ryder.
"Yeah. He does." Ryder says, smiling down at Ryley.
Ryder then sees Benny from his History class walk up to the notice board, reluctant to sign his name up. He takes a while to actually get a pen out.
"Hey Benny." Ryder says from his place across the hall from the notice board.
Benny turns around, "Hi Ryder."
"Why aren't you signing your name up yet? Last year, you said you were signing up for Glee Club." Ryder says.
"I am. I'm just nervous." Benny says.
"You can do it, man." Ryder says with a reassuring smile and nod.
Benny smiles back then signs his name up on the piece of paper. Benny smiles at Ryder once more then walks off down the hallway.
"We should probably get to class." Ryder says to Ryley.
"Let's get going." Ryley says.

Auditions happen the next day. The first one up is Blake Goodman. He walks onto the stage with a smile and goes up to the microphone in the centre of the stage.
"Hi, my name is Blake Goodman, I'm a Junior and I will be singing I'm Alive from Next To Normal." Blake says.
"Go ahead." Will says with a nod. The Glee Club sit behind Will, waiting for Blake to start.
The band begins to play and Blake starts to sing.
