The eclipse is one that was prophesized by the Mage's Legion.
Everyone in the kingdom got the news of it's occurence.
'I'm glad I didn't miss it' thought Kaleb. As evening fell on the town everyone went to the hill, just outside the main gate, to watch the eclipse. It was a small town but it had a fairly large population. Eventually, people had to go to the next hill and the kids started to climb the trees around the hill to get a better view.
With the moon in full view, everyone stared at the sky in complete silence, almost a trance like state. The full moon shining brightly almost felt ominous, as if something was about to happen, something that would change everything.
Time passed and some people were grouped up talking.
"I've never seen an eclipse. What do they look like?", was heard from within a crowd. Most people in the village hadn't even heard of an eclipse until it was announced by the mages.
As soon as the eclipse began, horses were heard headed in their direction. Everyone turned to see a squadron of soldiers being headed by a man in a robe, as well as a man in heavy armor.
The squadron surrounded the villagers and the two who lead them dismounted. The man in heavy armor had the Captain's Crest on his armor. Meanwhile, the robed figure exuded an aura of lightning. As soon as they dismounted the other soldiers trained their crossbows on the crowd.
The captain removed his helm revealing a huge scar on the right side of his face. "We, of the king's royal army, have come in search of a fugitive. As long as you cooperate, no harm will befall you." He said.
When he said those words, everyone in the crowd looked at eachother, as if trying to figure out who it was.
The mage removed his hood, revealing glowing, golden eyes. He scrutinized the entire group and stopped when he saw Kaleb.
"That's him." He said, pointing at Kaleb.
"What do you mean? I've been in a coma for the past week and have never left this village." He said at the mage.
"You are harboring the High Relic." He said as he charged a ball of lightning in his hand. "Now hand it over or else."
"I'm telling you I don't have any relic, and I couldn't have stolen it as I've never been out of the village." Replied Kaleb while backing away.
The mage threw the lightning at Kaleb. As soon as it reached a few inches the lightning started orbiting him until he absorbed it.
The eclipse completed. Kaleb fell to his knees, screaming in agony.
The headache returned with a vengeance. A golden aura surrounded him and he began to levitate. When he opened his eyes were bright gold with flecks of crimson swirling around the irises. He spoke in a powerful, almost godly voice.
"Leave now, else I will be forced to destroy you."All of the soldiers shot at Kaleb, but none of the bolts got near him. The bolts shattered in midair. The mage looked on in fear.
Kaleb raised his hand, formed a ring of gold and silver fire. It shot in every direction annihilating all of the soldiers and the captain.
The mage said his final words. "The High Relic has awoken. Fate has chosen a path."
