Kaleb woke with a start. He looked around for the gate, but saw that he was in his room with his mother.
"You're awake! Thank goodness." Said his mother as she hugged him.
His father walked in when he heard her. "You're ok."he said smiling.
"What happened just now? I only remember a headache and that weird dream again." Kaleb said, while holding his aching head.
"You should take it easy. You've been in a coma for a week." Said his mother.
"A WEEK!? How is that possible?" He asked in shock.
"When you had the headache, you fainted. Luckily I was with you and caught you when you fell."
"Who...?" He turned to see his friend, Cain, standing in the door.
"What, do you have amnesia now. You can't even remember your best friend." Cain said sarcastically.
He laughed and Kaleb soon joined. "You feeling better?"
"Yeah, I think so." He replied while standing up.
"You should rest." His mother quickly reminded him.
"Don't worry about him. Now, what about that dream you mentioned. Is it the one about the endless darkness and the crying woman?" Cain asked. "Seriously it's a bit creepy."
"Yeah, but this time there was an altar and a loud voice saying it's nearly time for my destiny, or something." He said, while trying to remember.
He got out of bed and walked out with Cain. They left the house and walked towards the main square of the village.
A group of kids ran up to them. "Kaleb! You're ok!"
He laughed as he sat on the ground with Cain and the kids.
"We're glad you didn't miss the eclipse. We know you were also excited for it." Said one of the kids.
"Yeah well meet up with everyone at the hill." Kaleb told them.
