Doomed

I held on to my heart,

So I wouldn't fall apart,

At least not in front of you,

But my sides had already split,

And I'd already unraveled,

There was nothing I could do.

If only you knew,

How much I toss and turn

To the thought of you.

Your words linger in my head

And I think of all the things

I should've said.

You stole pieces of me,

Snuck into my art,

And I sigh because I knew

We were doomed from the start.
