Have I Found You

Have I found you

Words echo across my mind

Questions always asking why?

But have I found you

I searched far and near

Here and there

High and low

Only to grow to the conclusion

That I might have found you

My heart races

My stomach flips

All signs that one knows

That I have finally found you

Im not nervous around you

In the uncomfortable sense

Your smile makes me smile

I always feel uplifted

But do you know

How hard it was to find you

im slowly losing confidence

the days pass so slowly

when we talk there's few words

they're indifferent

but I can't tell you

How hard it was to find you

My heart aches

because we've only talked for a few days

but have known each other for years

and yet the pain seems ever so fresh

what right did I have to find you

my scars are open and bleeding

I was hoping you could help me

because I healed yours

when I found you

It feels like the first time

Left in the dust to rust

And turn to gray ash

When I thought I had found you

Waiting for a time

That will never come

And feelings shrunk to

The back of the mind like a memory

I guess I didn't find you

I pick up the pieces again

Praying once or twice that

This time the stitches won't hurt

If only I had found you

My heart no longer flutters

My stomach no longer rolls

My emotions have been locked away

So I'm sorry this all happened
