My legs pushed me through the forrest. I drew quick and sharp breaths, willing my body to just get me that little bit further.

Suddenly a gun shot sounds of behind me, stopping me in my tracks. I spin around, searching for the source of the sound.

This wasn't hunting season was it?

"OOOF!"

Without warning, something hard and fast runs straight into me, knocking me to the ground.

I look over to see a tall, dark guy laying on the floor beside me.

He had cuts all over his body, his face was as white as a ghost, sweat lacing his shirtless torso.

He looked bad.

Suddenly, his body lurched upwards. He was awake and staring at me with glowing blue eyes.

My breath hitched, and I scrambled backwards.

"Are you okay?" he asks worried

"Yeah I- You, you need a doctor!"

"I'm fine... I'm just trying to get somewhere..." he stands up, rubbing his head "Sorry I ran into you I was looking the other way and-" he begins coughing up black blood.

"Oh my-" I cover my mouth, terrified out my mind.

"You need to help me-" he groans, falling to his hands and knees.

"Well shit what do I do?!" I look around frantically "Help! He-" I begin shouting

"NO!" he grabs my wrist urgently "they are going to kill me... please just... help me"

"Oh god no! What?! I don't wanna die-"

"Do you know the Hale House?"

"Well yes but-"

"Do you know where it is?"

"No- Listen I just think you should-"

"I'll guide you there, you just gotta help me" he begs, his body heaving up more of the thick black blood.

"Okay! Okay! I'll help you..." I move closer to him, wrapping my small delicate hands around his tensed arm.

"Alright are you right to get up?"

He nods grimly, and I pull him up with all my mite.

I wrap his strong lengthy arm over my shoulder, support his upper half with my other arm.

I'm breaking a sweat already. Man this guy is strong. Oh my god what am I getting myself into.

"Just straight ahead" he breathes, and I struggle to find my footing underneath his weight.

"My names Derek by the way" he says, and I look up at him. He's about 2 heads taller than me, and about twice my body weight.

"Y/N" I introduce myself cautiously. I don't know who this guy is or whether I can trust him or not.

All I can do is hope I'm not throwing myself into something more treacherous than I could have expected.
