Like rocks falling of a cliff, we tumble down the hill at an unstoppable speed. Protruding rocks, sticks and boulder type formations were striking my back and ribs, winding me severely. Suddenly something hits my left arm, and I remember Derek. His eye's are closed, his body lifeless; languished and pale. The only way I know he's alive is that every time his body smashes into the ground, he lets out a painful grunt. That's better than dead. I fail my arms out, trying to manipulate my body so I can see the bottom. I need to know how far away we are from the ground. I need to brace myself. The bottom of the hill, to my relief, is covered in a thick layer of grass and leaves. Hopefully it will provide a soft landing. Well, softer than landing on hard ground. Suddenly, my knee clips a large rock, sending me tumbling head first down the hill. All I can do is cover my head and beg that my neck doesn't snap.

The impact is hard and fast. I feel numb at first. I'm laying on my back, staring up at the sky. Past the tree tops, the sun is going down. It's golden and glowing, blinding me with its brightness.

Shit. I'm alive.

Coughing beside me snaps me out of my trance. My head falls to my left where Derek is lying, coughing and choking.

"Derek" I croak, my body is stiff as I push myself up. I crawl over to him, realising that he's choking on the black entity again. "Derek roll over" I groan, pushing him onto his side. As soon as he's on his side, he throws up black liquid violently, causing me to grimace. What is that stuff? His breathing steadies, and slowly he's breathing normally. Suddenly, a word screams out in my head. Hide. Hide now. I whip my head around setting my eyes on the cave like rock formation.

"The cave" I whisper, scrambling on my knee's to the entrance. It's not massive, but it's big enough for both Derek and I to hide in for the night. Until it's safe to get to his house. Wait it out. That's if he makes it. If we make it.

"Y/N" Derek coughs back at the bottom of the hill and I crawl back over to him. I'd be faster on my feet but I don't think I can stand.

"I'm here" I tell him calmly. He nods, clutching at his stomach. I look over his body, realising how severely injured he is. He has an arrow-made wound thats gushing blood, open gashes that are inches deep, and is covered in bruises.

"It's bad isn't it" he asks, a grim look on his face. I'm rendered speechless. What do I say?

"Hardly" I lie, shaking my head "Like, a few scratches"

He laughs hoarsely, causing him to cough.

"There's a cave, we can go in there" I tell him, look back to the cave. He nods. At least he wasn't being difficult.

"I just, I can't get up" He growls, struggling to push himself up onto all fours.

"Whoa whoa slow down" I say urgently, grabbing his torso to stop him from collapsing "Just go slow". He nods. We both take a deep breath. His arms shake violently as he pushes himself up from the ground. Slowly, he stands up. He towers over me, as I'm still kneeling on the ground. He reaches a hand out to me and I take it, my own limbs shaking as I stand. I wrap his arm over my shoulder letting out a deep breath. My whole body feels like I've been hit by a truck.

We stumble into the entrance, both of us collapsing once we're inside.
