Chapter - 9

Levi tried to focus on the sharp clack of his boots on the gravel. On the early morning chill rushing through his veins like poison. The sweet songs of a bird in the distance. Even so his heart beat at a rapid pace against his chest. His head filled with thoughts and he placed a shaking hand on his temple to calm them.
This of course did nothing but make him stop on the path he had been walking in an attempt to try and catch up with the fleeting moments from last night.
He remembered it all. The nervousness in Eren's eyes, and every flutter in his own heart as he watched the younger boy grow in understanding. He hoped he wouldn't forget any of it.
When the squad of nuisances returned everything would change. He couldn't hold Eren's hand or peck the top of his head. Things would have to go back to the way they were before. Shy glances, and lustful hearts. Not much time would be able to be spent together, wrapped in a warm embrace feeling sheltered from the world and its many horrors. This, Levi, did not like.
He understood that they had responsibilities and a duty to protect humanity, but couldn't he spend time with Eren as well?
In fact, nothing but the boy seemed to matter in this moment anyway. All Levi wanted was to kiss him and touch him. Be beside him, stroking his hair looking at how beautiful he was in the early light.
He decided he would make the most of the little time they had and be with the person who meant most to him.

"Oh brat, wake up." Levi demand standing over Eren still in Levi's bed.
Eren rubbed his eyes and say up looking like a small kitten waking up from a nap. "Y-yes, Levi?" His voice was groggy and innocent as he pulled the blanket tighter around him.
"Come with me." With that Levi gently stuck out a hand to the younger boy running his fingers through his hair.
Eren took the soft slightly smaller hand in his and was promptly dragged out of the bed. Managing to grab a blanket and wrap it around him like a cape, Levi, still hand and hand with Eren walked out of the dull and clean room to the stairs.
"L-Levi where are we going?" The meek voice mumbled squeezing tighter to Levi as they climbed the long spinning stair case.
Levi offered no answer, but instead opened a door at the end of a short corridor.
Eren's breath caught in his chest as his feet planted themselves to the cobblestone roof.
Levi looked over at him and smiled. "It's beautiful isn't it?" He led the two over to the center of the roof and sat down, Eren following his actions.
"Levi..." Eren continued to keep his gaze on one of the most breathtaking sunrises he had ever seen until he felt a familiar sensation on his cheek.
Levi pulled away from the light peck only to be grabbed by the neck and pulled into a warm embrace. The two faced each other foreheads touching. Eren soon filled the space between them and kissed Levi with all the passion he could muster. Soon he shifted onto his knees. Deepening the kiss, sliding his up to the others hair and tangling his fingers in it.
He broke away for air. "I'm so happy." They both smiled as the sun rose on the drab colored stone.
