Today was quite slow, if I do admit. But, it gave me chance to sort through my thoughts. They knew my name...
Wait! How the hell did they know my name!? And how they get into my house!? I knew I shouldn't have gotten that floo network installed.
Scowling to myself, I looked down at the almost-finished-wand in my hand. It was 12" in length, made of Alder Wood and had a Unicorn Hair Core. And let's say, that Unicorn was not happy with me stealing his hair.
I placed the wand in its box and placed the box in one of the many draws in my desk. I'd cast a spell on each one to make them endless. Thank you, Hermione Granger for teaching me that spell.
When I straightened up, I felt the feeling of someone staring at me. Not liking it, I turned around only to come face to face with rows and rows of wands. Raising my eyebrow, I stayed still for a moment until I heard a quiet thud, followed by a string of curse words.
I reached into my back pocket and with my left hand, took out my wand. It was 15" in length, made of Black Walnut Wood and had a White River Monster Spine core as well as a Thunderbird Tail Feather. It was one of the wands my grandfather had decided to try experimenting on. Surprisingly, it had chosen me.
Grandfather Garrick was happy that it had chosen me, as he wasn't sure what would happen if his experiment had been passed to someone with bad intentions.
Slowly, as if approaching a frightened animal, I made my way through the maze of wands. Luckily, I'd grew up in this shop, leading me to know about every nook and cranny. Smiling at the old memories, I carried on through the shop to where the curse words were heard.
As I approached the spot, a figure in black stood with their back facing me. I lifted my wand and pointed it at the man's back.
"Avis," I whispered. This caused a flock of birds to surround the intruder, blinding him for a few seconds.
"Levicorpus!" And with a flick of my wand, the person was dangling in the air.
Slowly making my way over, I pulled of the hood of the person and stepped away. My wide eyes soon turned into a glare as I stared at the person before me.
"Draco. Malfoy." I stated, the glare not leaving my face. This boy made my Hogwarts life horrible, until You-Know-Who came that is.
"Ilene. Ollivander." Draco replied with a smirk, how I'd love to hit that smirk off his face.
"What are you doing here Malfoy?" I asked, imagining scenarios where I can kick his ass.
"I'll cut to the chase. I need a job, and I heard you were hiring." He explained, when did this happen? Before I could reply about not asking for help, he carried on. "But you are looking for help Ilene, and if you don't except me, I'll shut down Ollivanders."
I considered this for a moment before a realization hit me. "Then where will people get their wands?"
"I heard Gregorovitch is a great wandmaker," he dismissed as if it was nothing at all.
I scowled at him, knowing he had said that on purpose. Everybody knew the hate between the new Ollivander's owner and the new Gregorovitch's owner. Basically, me and Mykew Gregorovitch's grandson. He just bugs me so much!
Letting a sigh escape my mouth, I looked at him through the side of my eyes to see a triumphant glint in his eyes. The little bugger. Facing him, I let a smirk grace my features.
"You can have the job," I said with the smirk still there. He smiles maliciously but it dropped when he saw me smirking.
"But, you do realise that I'm in charge of you know." His eyes widened in realisation before I turned and let him drop. There was a thud before groans were heard.
"Be here at 7:45 exactly, no earlier. Because I will not let you in if you're early."
"Wait! I can't stay here?" He asked, grabbing my wrist.
I turned around, ready to have a go at him, but stopped when I saw the desperation in his eyes. Oh my god, Draco Malfoy was kicked out of his house.
If this was an ordinary conversation, I would have laughed and told him to get out. But I've been hanging with the Weasley Twins, which means I don't even know the meaning of ordinary anymore.
I let out a massive sigh before motioning him to follow me as I went upstairs. I showed him to his room, with a little threat about no stealing, before getting ready into a pair of shorts and a tank top.
I sat down on the sofa in the kitchen and took out my drawing pad with watercolour paints. I was thinking of what to draw when it hit me, a memory I'd been forced to hide.
I got out my pencil and started with drawing first. I could use my wand, but it's even funner to do it by hand. After I had a rough sketch, I continued to finish it off before colouring it in with water paints.
I stared at my artwork for a moment before remembering I had to teach Malfoy what to do tomorrow morning and hid my artbook behind a pillow. I grabbed my wand slowly made my way to the wand he was staying in.
I checked to see if anything had been stolen, nope, and if he was asleep, yep, before slowly closing the door and making my way to my own room. I sat on my windowsill and stared at the sky pondering life.
I decided on asking Malfoy what happened tomorrow and jumped into my cloud of heaven. I should probably clean that mess up tomorrow. And make breakfast before he gets up. And a load of other stuff.
Damn, I feel like a parent. Too much hassle. I mean, I would have children. But it's so much hassle to make them and have them. It's like, why can't stalks or whatever they are deliver them?
I fell asleep with one question, Why?
