"I'm deeply sorry father.."
"Rapunzel! You know sorry just isn't enough!" Rapunzel's father said, fuming with rage. "You just jeopardized the whole mission! You know how much men that little incident cost me??!"
Rapunzel could not make any eye contact with her father. This was all my fault, she thought. She hadn't thought of the consequences when she decided to go on her little escapade.
"Father I can.."
"No, no..I have already decided" Her father eyed her, "You, young lady, will stay at this house and are not to go out at any time. I'll contact with your school and request that you drop out.."
"Father! You can't-!!"
"You. Remember. Your. Manners." His tone was flat and cold.
Rapunzel felt chills up her spine. This was the first time his father had been so angry with her; the warmth gone from his eyes. It was all so new and shocking that she didn't dare continue to speak and just looked down upon the floor.
" Also, I'll have guards stationed around your room. Merida is doing and errand and won't be back in a few days so I'm assigning you a new bodyguard, you'll be meeting him later. This is final and I expect that you cooperate with me this time." Rapunzel's father said as he looked at her, waiting for a response
Rapunzel couldn't find the right words to say as she chocked back her tears and made a slight nod. She's going to be locked up. As soon as the thought crossed her mind, the tears began to flow.
"Rapunzel.." Her father placed an arm on her shoulder and tilded her tear streaked face to face him, "I'm doing this for your own good. I don't want you to.."
As much hurt as she felt right now she couldn't help but be mad as well and was not able to keep her thoughts to herself.
"I don't want you to what?!? End up like mom?! Dad! Please.." She reasoned, tears overflowing, "You tell me that you're doing this for me but you're only thinking about yourself!! And Dad.. I'm not like mom.. I won't end up like her.. so please.."
"No."
Her father's face was ashen.
"I already lost her and I will not lose you too. I will not be able to bear it. Fine, think of me whatever way you want! Make me the devil for all I care! But one thing is for sure. YOU. ARE. NOT. LEAVING. THIS. HOUSE."
He stormed out the room, leaving Rapunzel sobbing on the floor.
