Chapter 1: Escape

"My lady we need to go." Merida urged Rapunzel.

"But.."

"No buts. Your father has requested for you to leave immediately and I cannot deny orders. Let's get going." She called for her two men.

"You.." pointing at one of them "secure the perimeter, and you, go contact our ride. Tell everyone to fall back. " Then she turned to Rapunzel, "Lady, let's move quickly. I believe they've picked up our location. We can't risk you getting caught in this."

Just as the two were about to make their escape, gunfire whistles through the air.

"Shit. I didn't think they'd be here this fast." Merida swore as she loaded her bow with an arrow, passing through the corridors. She can't risk a single mistake. The lady was with her.

One of their men came running from the direction they were heading. He was limping, blood all over his uniform.

"Commander! They've surrounded us!" he said catching his breath, "Also, he's here".

Oh god no. Merida felt shivers tingle down her spine. 'Please let it not be "him"' she silently prayed. "By he, do you mean..?"

He didn't even get to answer.

A gun fired and the man sagged forward, blood flowing from the hole in his chest. Rapunzel screamed and clung to Merida, trembling. Merida readied her bow, pointing at the man standing before them.

"Frost" Merida growled.

"Nice to see you again" the man chuckled. "I see you haven't changed. Still using that old fashioned bow I see? Haha. Old habits die hard"

He moved closer to them. Merida held her ground, pointing the loaded bow towards Jack.

"What's your business here Frost?" she glared at him.

"Hmm.. Well I work here now." Jack smirked. "Offered me a deal I could not possibly resist, and now shall I return the question to you madame? Why are you here?".

"That is classified information." Merida said " Now if you don't want to get yourself hurt, move it."

Merida tried to walk past Jack, Rapunzel trailing behind her when he cut them off.

"Sorry Mer, but I can't do that. You see.. My client doesn't want anyone to leave the premises and I can't leave out any exceptions."

He circled them jokingly, playing with his gun when something (or rather someone) caught his attention.

"Wow, look what we have here." Eyeing Rapunzel, "Hi I'm Jack".

He flashed a cocky smile at Rapunzel who clung even more to Merida. Jack chuckled. "No need to be scared. I don't hurt pretty girls." Jack winked.

Merida placed herself between the two. "Stop it with your antics Frost." Merida said aiming her bow, ready to fire. "Get out of the way.".

"Chill. I was just trying to be friendly" Jack said, waving his hands up in the air. "So high strung as always.".

Then Merida heard their ride. Before he could notice, she punched Jack hard in the face giving them enough time to run towards the helicopter. "And as stupid as ever, Jack" Merida mocked him as she and Rapunzel boarded the helicopter.
