--This oneshot was requested by and dedicated to Yoko_Lates! Enjoy!--
Kizuki Lates was born on a warm day in May in Magnolia's Central Hospital, Room 23.
He was a beautiful baby boy, who's parents were Hibiki and Yoko Lates.
The two were proud of their young baby boy and enrolled him in their guild, Blue Pegasus.
Kizuki spent most of his early years playing around in the guild with Miko, an exceed and learning Archive Magic from his father.
But even though Kizuki seemed quite happy and content playing in the guild with Miko, Yoko wanted Kizu to interact with some children his own age and she knew exactly where to find some!"Fairy Tail?" Kizu asked, as Yoko held his hand as they both crossed over a little footbridge. "What's that, Mommy? Is it a food?"
Yoko chuckled to herself.
"It's a guild just like ours, silly! There are lots of kids there, so you'll be able to make lots of new friends!"
"Oh, okay then!"
The mother and son arrived at a large, sort of extravergent building with words 'Fairy Tail' embroided in large, shiny, gold letters above the entrance.
"See? This is where we're going, Kizu" Yoko explained, as she walked her son up the concrete path to the large wooden double doors.
Kizu was feeling a little shy, but he figured that if he was going to make some new friends, some amount of confidence was needed.
(With a little help from his Mom) Kizu struggled a little and pushed the right door open...He was met by the mix of different voices, shouting, screaming and laughing.
There was loads of people inside of the one hall; so it was a humungous change from Blue Pegasus!
"Auntie Yoko!" came a bright, elated voice, that seemed to cut through the rest of the voices in the guild.
Kizu watched as a small, grinning pink-haired girl ran up to his Mommy and clung to her legs, like a little monkey, grinning. Her long, white scarf flowing in the wind behind her as she ran.
"Hi Nashi! Have you been okay? How's everyone?" Yoko asked the small, pretty pinkette (called Nashi), smiling.
"I've been okay and so has everybody else!" She replied, beaming.Kizuki noticed three other children walking over to his Mom, smiling. He was right to assume that they were Nashi's friends.
There were two boys and a girl.
The girl had short, wavy blue hair and wore a navy trenchcoat and small boots. Her eyes were bright like the ocean. She looked like a walking china doll.
She held up a notebook, which read: "Hello Auntie Yoko! :)"
"Hi Riko!" She replied, happily.
Kizuki began wondering why she was writing down her words instead of speakibg them...
One of the little boys seemed to have a scowl on his face, but on closer inspection; Kizu realised that his eyes were just weird-looking. The little boy had spiky, jet-black hair He wore a white t-shirt with a black jacket over it. He donned blue jeans and black trainers.
"Hey Auntie Yoko, how're things?" He asked, which was a suprisingly surreal question for a four year old to ask, but Kizuki's Mommy just smiled and answered him.
The last child, who had large brown, curious-looking eyes was looking straight at Kizu.
Some of his most notable features was his large black scarf that was so long, it touched the floor and his brown, spiky hair that stuck up all over the place.
Kizuki decided to pluck up the courage to introduce himself.
"H-Hi, I'm Kizuki Lates. What's your name?" He asked, a little shyly.
The little boy smiled.
"Hello! I'm Ryuji Kuro!" He answered, quite simply; without the slightest trace of shyness. "Is Auntie Yoko your Mom?"
"Yeah"
"That's nice. Do you want to play with us?"
Ryuji pointed to his other three friends who were swarming Yoko with random, unrelated questions.
Kizu nodded.
"Yay! Wait here. I'll get the others, okay?" Ryuji said, running over to his friends.
'They're a little weird, but they seem like fun, I guess..." Kizu thought to himself, as the other children walked over to him, looking nothing but friendly. After the introductions were made, the five started playing together. This included games like, What's The Time, Mr Wolf? Hopscotch and Rock, Paper, Scissors.
It was Nashi who suggested they have a race to the footbridge to see who was the coolest one out of them all.
Riko won the race, because she used her magic to travel through water, so that she was at the footbridge first; whilst Kizu came last place.
As the children rested, Kizu noticed a fish streak down the water under the bridge.
"Hey guys" he started. "Wanna try and catch a fish?"
"Ooooo! That's a good idea!" Nashi agreed, along with everybody else. The kids spent about an hour and thirty minutes, trying to catch a single fish, but the water-dweller was always too quick for them, until Storm suggested that they all jumped in the water at once to catch the fish.
Obviously not a good idea, but you couldn't really blame a child's innocence...
Kizu, Ryu and Riko were one side of the river and Nashi and Storm were on the other.
"Okay guys, we jump on the count if three..." Storm said. "Three...Tw-Wait, what?!?"
Ryu had been to anxious to go and he'd tried to move, but stopped himself at the last second...Unfortunately, the young warrior had stepped on his own scarf and slipped into the water on accident.
Ryu laughed, happily, as he surfaced and wiped the water from his eyes. This set everybody else off as well!It was at this moment that Kizuki Lates knew that he'd made some friends for life...
