The next summer morning Harper and Melissa were laying down on lounge chairs by Harper's expensive underground pool. Melissa was still shocked that Drew had the nerves to keep a big secret from Melissa like that. How long have her and that boy been seeing each other? Does Melissa know him? Is he hot?
In a way Melissa was upset that Drew had lied to her and ditched her for a boy, even though Melissa had done it plenty of times before. Melissa also felt a tad bit threatened that Drew wasn't telling her about her secret guy. It would be worse if Drew had told the rest of the girls and not Melissa. What if they were all keeping secrets from her? Melissa was supposed to be the leader and the one the girls looked up to for popularity, boy and fashion advice.
"You wouldn't keep a secret from me, right Harper?" Melissa asked as she turned over to Harper who was tapping away at her phone.
"No. Why?" Harper asked taking her eyes off her phone's screen.
"Oh no reason. Just curious, that's all."
Melissa pulled out her phone too and texted Drew.
