Taehyung missed Jungkook.
It had been about three weeks since Jungkook had to cut him off, and he missed him so much. He was constantly checking his mailbox every day before and after school, hoping that his mom didn't check it and find a possible letter before he did.
But he hadn't found anything yet.
Unless his Jungkook is sending him letters, but his mom is finding them before he does and hiding them.
Nevermind, this isn't "The Notebook".
Taehyung knew that Jungkook did live quite a ways away, so mail would take longer. But he hated waiting, although he knew it would be worth the wait.
He needed to hear from Jungkook. Know how he's doing, if his parents are giving his phone back soon, if Jungkook is just doing okay in general. Jungkook would always send him daily updates before, and know that he couldn't, Taehyung was forever worrying.
Is he happy? How's school? Is he doing okay in math? Has he decided to move onto that Jimin kid since it's hard to talk to Taehyung now?
Taehyung hoped the last one wasn't true.
So you can only imagine that Taehyung almost screamed when he opened his mailbox after school one day and found a letter personally addressed to him.
To: Tae :)
From: Jeon JungkookNot sure if his mom was home, Taehyung quickly shoved the letter under his shirt and walked through the door. Taehyung sighed once he saw his mom's shoes present at the door.
"Hi mom!" He called, "I have a lot of homework so I'm going to go get started now!"
"Alright, I'll call you when dinner's ready!" He heard her call back from the kitchen, making him smiling before he raced upstairs.
Shutting his door, Taehyung took the letter out and sat at his bed, marvelling at the envelope for a few minutes before he finally had the courage to open it. Not wanting to tear it to much, he carefully opened the envelope and took out the contents.
Inside was the main letter, a very cute Polaroid picture of Jungkook and another mystery folded up piece of paper.
He picked up the main letter, and smiled once he saw Jungkook's handwriting.
Dear Tae,
Well I finally wrote you a letter! My parents are still on my back so it took quite a bit of stealth to get this to you.
Daily update: I'm dyeing my hair tomorrow! My parents usually hate that kind of thing, but I convinced them with my charm and all that. I'll send you another letter with the results so be prepared for that.
God I miss you so much. I hope you're still smiling Tae, I love your smile so much and want the whole world to see it. I'll just have to wait a little longer to see it again for myself.
But that's okay, good things come to those who wait.
Much love,
Kookie :)
Sighing, Taehyung folded the paper back up, moving onto the next piece of paper. Unfolding it carefully, Taehyung wanted to cry once he saw what it was.
In beautiful detail, a pencil crayon drawing of Taehyung himself was displayed on the paper, Jungkook's signature on the bottom.
Sighing and wiping his eyes, Taehyung slipped the three things into his school binder, where his mother never went.
"What's love?" Taehyung once asked his mom.
"Well, love is when you always want to be around someone, and when they're not around, you're always trying to get them back."
